TestimonialsJuly 2011 Your house helped make this trip special. It's a beautiful home and was perfect for my husband & I plus our daughter and her 16 year old friend. We hope we can stay at your house again, maybe next year! Thanks! -- The Sauders
June 2011 Another wonderful week at Birds Eye View, we were here two years ago and returned with a new generation of Griffins (our beautiful 18 mo. old granddaughter). Thanks for allowing pets, our pup Bella, loved the house and the beach. Thanks! -- The Griffins
June 2011 Had at great time, this is the best house we have stayed in out of 25 years coming to Ocracoke. The hammock is one of the best features, great for naps. Thanks for a great week, see you next year. -- The Harper Family
September 2010 Nice house! Interesting layout to maximize the space, great views! Especially the sunrise, Thank You. -- The Berneys
August 2010 We have been coming to Ocracoke for 20+ years, we really enjoyed Birds Eye View. Very charming and well equipped! We ate "in" most evenings and the kitchen was enjoyable to use. Thank you very much for an enjoyable stay! -- The Israel Family
July 2010 Your house is adorable! We loved all the different levels and even at the end of the week we still had to think about what level we were on before we went up or down the stairs! Our dog was not used to being in a house without carpeting but he did fine. Sure was nice when it came time to clean. The weather was beautiful, but no rain except for a sprinkle one afternoon. After a 14 hour trip down from Maryland (really bad traffic) we had a very relaxing week at Bird's Eye View. Thank you -- The Auwarters
March 2010 Bird's Eye View does not disappoint! In our short stay the pond in back hosted Redhead duck, Canvasback duck, Gadwall, Mallard, Pied bill grebe, Ring-necked duck, Blue-winged teal, Common gallinule, Common snipe plus a flock of 60+ gulls that came to graze on the juniper berries in the backyard. That was quite a sight! Did I mention the Ibis'? This is by far the finest bird blind I have ever visited. My thanks to those who dreamed this. -- Pam - Chapel Hill, NC
August 2009 Great house and views - and so nice to be able to take our pups to the beach. Be sure to get your dinners from the seafood shop - so fresh, it's simple to make a delicious dinner - Cheap! A wonderful holiday in a comfy house with great views. -- Lucas family - Raleigh, NC
August 2009 Thank you! I have been coming down to Ocracoke 24 years and enjoyed a new location for me. Cheers! -- Chas, Marina, Papper and Smidgen
June 2009 We had a great time on this beautiful island and a wonderful stay at Bird's Eye View. Thank you so much. P.S. My favorite part was playing Blokus. -- Thomas
June 2009 Ditto what Thomas said. The island is like a little paradise! My favorite parts were: 1. The birds - ibises, skimmers, etc. 2. Blokus...woohoo! Go time wasters! 3. Ooh the hammock!! 4. The house, all beautiful. 5. A great stay. Thank you very much! -- Ada
June 2009 We loved this house and its location. We met your neighbor Frank and his dog Sheila. Frank makes great Clams Casino. Great weather, kayaking with our Yorkie pup, Bella, fires on the beach (making hot dogs and Smores), Happy Hour on the screened porch, shelling, bocci ball, and windy sunny beach days. Loved walking to Howard's and Cafe Atlantic. Thanks for the use of your bikes. Thanks for the great house to spend a relaxing week in one of the best beaches in the U. S. -- The Griffins, Middletown, Pennsylvania
March 2009 Your house is beautiful! We had a wonderful time! Thank you for everything! -- The Obies (spring break)
November 2008 Wow! Your house is so beautiful. This was my first visit to Ocracoke Island and it was beautiful. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Sitting out on the porch to read and watching the sunsets from Bird's Eye View were wonderful. Being able to bike around to the beach and to the little shops really made it feel like vacation. This was such a fun weekend getaway and I can't wait to come back and visit! -- Vanessa, Crystal, Mitch and Steven
October 2008 Thank you so much for your pet friendly home. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the 2 legged folks or the 4 legged. We actually looked at this house when it was on the market years ago and still love it! -- Clay, Deb, Steve, Karen, Boss and Dude
September 2008 This house is terrific! Perfect for families, pets and such. We all loved the outdoor shower and the various ways one can get comfortable. Also, the pillows and mattresses were all excellent. Really, this was the ideal home base for a week away at the beach: the village a stone's throw one way, the lifeguard beach another, and Howard's in-between! Love your book collection. Thanks for making that available. We hope to return to Bird's Eye View. -- Vin, Beth, Jacob, Kensington and Laurel - Maryland
September 2008 Thank you for sharing your house! It was the perfect fit for our family. The hammock, the porch swing and that roof deck for stargazing - beautiful. We plan on coming back. -- Joseph, Linda, Sophia, Isabella, and Annie (puppy)
September 2008 We loved the town, beaches, and house. Thank you for making it pet friendly! Our 10 year old dog loves the beach, and we took this weekend trip just for her. Thanks! -- Richard, Stephanie and Lassie - Chapel Hill, NC
June 2008 Beautiful home - enjoyed renting it. -- Slaughter
