Off the beaten path and nestled in the trees away from the hustle and bustle of the Village, this Island home has plenty to offer. You will forget about the chaos of everyday life and have one of Ocracoke's famous "Changes in Attitude"! Enjoy your day strolling to the Lighthouse, nearby Springer's Point, Silver Lake Harbor, or one of the many local shops and restaurants. Or try just lounging in one of the porch rockers reading a good book and enjoying the sounds of nature. With lots of windows to let in the sunshine and sea breezes, this cottage is very comfortably furnished. An assortment of books, games, and movies helps the hours slowly pass.

Three bedrooms: (1) w/King, (1) w/Queen, and (1) w/2 Twins. 2 full baths with tub and shower.



Other amenities include central AC/heat, a well-stocked kitchen w/dishwasher and microwave and kitchen-aid mixer, 3 cable TV's, 2 VCR's, DVD, stereo w/CD player, i-Pod speaker system, phone, wireless internet, ceiling fans, gas log fireplace (available off season), full sized washer and dryer, iron and ironing board and 3 clock radios, 2 hair dryers. Also a high chair, small stroller, baby gate and pack and play.

The exterior offers a screened porch with table and chairs and 2 rockers, small furnished back deck with adirondack rockers, the ever popular Hot and Cold outdoor shower, a fenced area in back yard for your dogs, a charcoal park style grill, and fish cleaning bench with a hose nearby.

All Linens are provided - sheets and towels. Pets are welcome with no limit on the number and no pet fee. No Smoking Please. Maximum occupancy is 6 people, including children and parking is limited to 3 cars.

Partial stays of less than a week are welcomed and may be booked within 2 weeks of your desired arrival date. You may either call the office at 877-646-2822 to book your partial week stay or you may book online under the nightly tab on this property page.

We love to cook (yes, even while on vacation) and Changes in Attitude is just about the best equipped kitchen we have found anywhere on earth (everything but a garlic press - but jeez, no one's perfect). We also loved the king bed (so comfortable - great mattress) and the large master bedroom with lots of windows to let in the fresh sea air and beautiful light. Also CIA is in a perfect location - central to everything. We thank the owners for their gracious pet-friendly policy and, if you are bringing your best friend, you will find this property to be perfect for them as well (very safe, away from the road). We will definitely choose Changes in Attitude again for our next visit. -- The Chisholms

Our first week was great, some rain, beach and fishing were good. Our dogs love the ocean and soundside. We enjoyed riding the bikes all around instead of taking the car. Another great week on the island. Every time we get on the ferry, relaxation begins and it feels as though we've gone back in time! While we'd love to keep this place a secret, we find ourselves recommending Ocracoke as a vacation spot to our family and frineds. We hope to be back very soon!

We have enjoyed another relaxing week on Ocracoke. This is our fifth year here and probably the most special. Our granddaughrer, spent her first week at the beach. Her first tentative day was followed by five days of carfree playing in the sand and water. She was quite the beach bum by the end of the week. We all envy her tan! Our children, ages 5 and 9, love it here and have great memories of our vacations on the island. We enjoyed our days at the beach , riding our bikes, and walks to the lighthouse. The lightening bugs in the field next the the lighthouse at night are an incredible signt. We also took a boat tour and saw nesting pelicans, Portsmouth Island, and a sunken ship! This is our 7th straight year coming to Ocracoke and we have made the rtrip with an assortment of grown kids, grandkids, friends and dogs...and grandma one year. We had an awesome time this week. Temps in the mid - high 70's all week! Only 1 morinng of rain and that was Friday. Started each moring off with a bike ride to the coffee shop. Rented a boat from Ferris ..visited the Ocracoke Museum, rode bikes nearly the length of the island, walked the hammock hills nature trail, and went to the beach to collect shells. This house was perfect for me, my kids, and wiener dog! Loved it! Hope to stay here again! -- The Biondi Family

We love this house. It is the second one we have rented and we prefer this one! The kitchen is so well-stocked we had everything we could have wanted and more. The bedrooms were amazing and all the beds are comfortable. Ocracoke is our favorite place in the Outer Banks. We enjoy everything the Island has to offer. We went on lots of long walks, bike rides, playing on the beach. We loved being able to bring our 2 dogs with us - they loved hanging out on the screened porch. We had a warm week with weather in the 70's. The last two days were in the 80's! We are back with our two golden retrievers, Dusty is now 13 years old and Annie 16 months. Corky painted almost every day, Tom got fig cake and fresh shrimp to take home to PA. We appreciated all the new touches to the house - we all sleep wonderfully here - including the dogs. We're trying to figure out how many times we've been to Ocracoke and we're guessing 8-9 years. This is by far my favorite place that we've stayed. As many have done, I would like to say thank you for allowing pets - dogs Ziggy and Heidi have also enjoyed the vacation and it makes us happy to be able to have them with us. This week started off grey and cool (we LOVED the fireplace) and got nicer each day. I strongly suspect we'll hope to rent this house next time we're here. We selected your house based upon a review by a couple that had stayed many times and found yours a favorite. The recommendation lived up to its promise and we were comfortable here. We enjoyed the spaciousness and well equipped kitchen in your home! So many extras!!
