TestimonialsAugust 2009 This is a wonderful house - so interesting! I love the Outer Banks, they surely grow on you. In many ways like Cape Cod in Massachusetts. We only discovered the cache of old books about Ocracoke the night before we left. Have to come back to go over to Portsmouth some time. Thank you for having such a lovely house to share. -- The Knights, Salem MA
July 2009 The Flints from Oregon, PA and VA have gathered for some family fun. We love your magic house; we feel the presence of C. Day - what an inspiring woman she must have been. We tried to do as much as we could with 1 year old Jonah and a well behaved Boston Terrier. The back porch proved to be a wonderful choice for fine dining. We ate seafood from the local fish market - a lot - ! Yumm. Love the garden in a boat idea! --
June 2009 Hello Day Family! Thank you once again for sharing your wonderful Ocracoke house… we continue to appreciate and enjoy it every year. It is truly a blessing for our family to be able to vacation here together - thanks! We have made good use of the boat of herbs and they are doing very well indeed! -- Ozolin and Bakken Family
October 2008 We had a perfect two weeks (first one by far the best weather wise), but even a rainy day on Ocracoke is fine. Lots of walking, kayaking and cooking great seafood. Can't add much more - it does not get better than this. Our two chocolate labs agree! -- Craig and Sue - Raleigh, NC
August 2008 We had a family reunion here at Cottage Station. The Allens, returning to North Carolina for the first time since moving to Chicago last summer, reunited on the Outer Banks. This is our third time here together but our first extended stay on Ocracoke. We loved it and will definitely be back! The weather was hot and humid but perfect for the beach, which we visited every day we were here. For most of our stay the ocean was warm and peaceful, though it got rough today with the approach of Hurricane Bill. We're happy it doesn't look like it will hit Ocracoke directly. This is a great house with a beautiful design. We loved the outdoor shower and the well-stocked kitchen, and our kids loved the spiral staircase and the lighthouse window. The Fig Tree gave us yummy fruit all week. We celebrated a special occasion here - the release of my first book. I'm so glad I could mark the event on this beautiful island with the people who mean the most to me. Thank you for sharing your house with us. We hope to return soon. -- Evanston, IL
