NOTE from the OWNERS… There is a special champagne cork weaved into one of the decorations in the house. It is from the first bottle of champagne opened in 1985 when we bought this lot and started building. The house, "Ocra-Cork," is named for it. We challenge all our renters to search for "the cork" & let us know if you find it!!! Please also enjoy our photo album, watching the house building from the ground up plus many fun times. We'd love to have you leave comments in our guest book. We definitely read & pay attention to them!!"
TestimonialsMay 2011 "… the kitchen was the best equipped I've ever been in, including my own."
"Kayaking from Ocra-Cork is excellent. ("Ride the Wind" will deliver kayaks to the house.) We especially loved seeing all the birds, fish turtles. We have enjoyed many evenings on the screened porch. One late afternoon, an otter startled the duck that has two duckling, and there was quite a commotion. … Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us! We feel like we know you after seeing all the pictures of Ocra-Cork being built. This has been a fantastic vacation!!"
"This has been the best vacation ever. The house is perfect for our little group. We will definitely rent it again next summer! … I can't remember when I have laughed so much! We have made some great memories this week. Ocra-Cork is a special house on the most beautiful island anywhere. Thank you for making it available! … P.S.: We found the cork!"

"The house is so pretty and feels so much like a true home. It's my favorite place that I have stayed at a beach. I hope I get to come back here sometime in the future. OH… and we found the cork!"
"I was just searching for the "Ocra-cork" - my brother found it!! … I love Ocracoke and I love your beach house!!!!"
"…family reunion at this wonderful Ocracoke house on the water - from Seattle, WA, Harrisburg PA, the eastern shore of VA and Alexandria VA - we gathered for the first time on Ocracoke! Boat docked at your dock, kayaking, biking, fishing, and swimming at the beach and right here off the dock. … Love the house."
"Three families gathered for a week of fun in the sun. Really enjoyed the "widow's walk" - spectacular views of the sunset and stars. Great food complimented with local seafood, including Spanish Mackerel we caught with Captain Norman on his boat, the Rascal. … The house is great - we enjoyed staying here.
"Our last night at the "Cork". Big family get-together with so much fun each day. Beach, clamming, fishing, kayaking, biking, coffee house, dirt biking ad nauseum. Cooked anything that would stand still long enough to be caught, peeled, sliced, or diced… had a chowder cook-off - a tie! Favorite place is on the dock. The house is perfect for us."
"We're back! … My mom yesterday caught two 10+ pound mullets in the net!! Had a great time. See you again next year!!
