TestimonialsJune 2011 We had a delightful stay at your very charming cottage. The weather was perfect. It accommodated a family of four adults and one six year old child very well. We think your cottage is the prettiest inside of any of the cottages on Ocracoke and our family has been coming to the Island since 1983. -- Clara Parham, Heidi herd, Doug, Dawn & Lisette Graham
June 2011 Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with guests. We have been coming to Ocracoke off and on for about 15 years and we all agree we love this house the best of all. By the end of the week there were 6 of us-a lovely family gathering place. Good weather mostly all week, with just enough rain to let us catch up with books. Our traditional pilgrimage to the Back Porch was the best every-fantastic dinner there. We spent the week bird-watching, canoeing, walking, the beach and playing in the waves. The beauty of Ocracoke is that it's a real village, and the beach is protected and free. We enjoyed the Nature Trail. Love sitting on the roof top deck and watching the ibises come back to roost. Nice mom and daughter time looking at pottery, great dinners from the fish market and the new taco stand rocks! We feel like we just got here, but is almost time to leave. Thank you for a happy week with family. -- The Zaino Family
June 2011 Wayne and I have stayed in numerous homes here on Ocracoke and yours is definitely one of our favorites. The decor is beautiful and relaxing (I really enjoyed all of the clocks with random time, how appropriate for vacation time!). We used the observation deck the most and after getting used to the stairs our dog claimed that as his favorite spot. Everything about Ocracoke is exciting and special but this trip our highlight was a trip to Portsmouth. We chose the ATV tour and really enjoyed the morning. I would have liked to see the town more but bugs were pretty bad so we stayed mostly on Portsmouth beach. We found some beautiful shells and got some great photos of pelicans and a beach lizard. We visited Jason's, Creekside, and love the new Taco stand. Mostly we bought seafood at the market and ate more lbs than I care to mention. Speaking of pounds we are stopping for some fudge before we leave. Hate to leave! I hope our future holds another visit to Olivella soon! Well the packing is almost finished and we are headed back to PA. Thanks for the use of your wonderful home! Everything was perfect! -- Wayne & Judy Shoemaker
May 2011 What a beautiful home and great location! I came down with my 12 year old dog, Jack and we loved it. Sunrises and sunsets from the deck, morning coffee on the front porch, the weather has been terrific. I introduced my high school friend to the island and she fell in love with it. My husband is here now for week two. We will get together with friends and most importantly, have time with our sons, who are fortunate enough to live here. We're sorry to leave this home. It is truly lovely. -- Ann & Jeff Lucas, Shann Whited & Jack the dog
April 2011 Thank you for sharing Olivella with us. It is lovely. We come to Ocracoke at least once a year but have never stayed in this area before. It's very secluded. WE especially enjoyed the back porch where we were often visited by the neighborhood kitties! Several years ago we brought one of our nieces to the island and she fell so in love with it that she decided to get married here. That's why we are here this week. Everything was perfect-we could not have asked for a more beautiful day for the wedding. Dave Bundy performed the ceremony, and then we went for a reception at Gaffer's. They did a great job-who knew a sports bar could put on such a nice reception. This vacation has more special memories than usual, and Olivella will certainly be a part of them. Thank you again. -- The Frantz Family
August 2009 There are not words enough to express how "perfect" your home was for us. We've been coming together for 10 years and have rented higher and lower than Olivella, but never found a cottage that welcomed us as Olivella did. It was a pleasure meeting you and Scooter and learning of Olivellla's history. Than you a million times over! -- Paul and Susan, Maryland
August 2009 Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful home. Can't believe it is time to pack up for home. Will truly miss this cozy home. You have a wonderful flair for decorating. It makes the home. We enjoyed being able to meet you also and we thank you for sharing "Scooter" with us. Hope to be back next year. -- Roger, Alice and Hannah
July 2009 My family and I have had the best time in your home. We have been to the Outer Banks two other times and none of the other houses have been as pretty and homey feeling. The house is great! P.S. How did you find so many shells? -- Hailey, Eli, Hayden, Mark and Ginger
July 2009 What a beautiful week for memories! When I ask my children what they will remember - they have the "home" on their list. Thank you for sharing and creating this beautiful space. Much love was had here. Peace. -- Bridget, Juniper and Frances
July 2009 My husband and I have been coming to Ocracoke together for the past 12 years. Your home is one of the nicest that we have stayed. We especially loved the deck with the view of the sound and watching the sunsets in the evening. We had a great week at the beach. We hope to be back again next year. P.S. My husband watered your plants on the front porch. -- Linda and Don
