TestimonialsAugust 2010 Well I've spent the last week in the most mellow, relaxed place I've ever been. Your home is amazing and I felt much at home. I can see why it's a dream. The ocean is beautiful and the vibe of this island I'm hoping to take home. This place is healing and I will be back and only stay in Pipe Dream. Your place is great and I enjoyed everyday. Thank you for sharing your home! --
July 2010 Our week here in Pipe Dream was wonderful. The house is beautiful and one of my favorites. This house is in great condition and was great for when we had company for dinner. We loved the decks and screened porches, they were very relaxing. We also enjoyed the horse shoe and metal ring game, they kept us occupied for a while. I've been coming to Ocracoke for almost my whole life and this week was one of the best. Our week was lucky because we had mostly sunny, beautiful weather. Thank you for sharing this amazing house with us! -- The Stanley Family
May 2010 Hi, there. My family and I greatly enjoyed our relaxing vacation on Ocracoke, and staying at Pipe Dream made it even more relaxing. Unfortunately, I was too laid back and put off writing an entry in the guestbook until the very end, at which time I was unable to locate a pen! But I really need to let OIR know how much in love we are with Pipe Dream. We felt so very remote and isolated and the view afforded to us by the huge living area windows and multitude of decks completed the illusion. The weather was temperamental during our stay, heavy morning showers that cleared to fairly pleasant afternoons, but the home was so comfortable, we were actually grateful for the rain - it gave us more reasons and time to enjoy the ambience. We are looking forward to another stay next year. We didn't make reservations in advance due to my husband's work schedule, but we are sure to return. Thanks so much!

April 2010 Pipe Dream is a gem! Perfect location, close enough to walk to town and the shops and hidden away from everyone else. We hate to leave but can't wait to be back for more memories. We will definitely be back to Pipe Dream! Thank you for this awesome home, it is blissfully perfect. -- Winslow Family
September 2008 We are counting the days until we can return to the best house on Ocracoke Island: Pipe Dream. We've made Ocracoke our vacation destination almost every summer for 29 years and used to rent different houses each time. Then we discovered Pipe Dream; it's our permanent choice. My favorite deck looks out at the sound, where in the afternoon we watch the egrets fish in tidal pools while a steady stream of ibis fly over our heads. It's the perfect place for post-beach drinks and snacks. A secluded deck off the master bedroom hides the hammock, where my husband heads for his afternoon naps. The screened porch with its swing and chairs is lovely for al fresco dining. The outdoor shower is wonderful—spacious (with a changing area!), well-built and private. Occasionally we do go inside: The living area is on the top floor for the best views—the living room picture window looks toward the sound. The furniture is chic and comfortable. The wall of book cases offers lots of book choices as well as family-oriented games and a considerable collection of local art. The kitchen is well equipped and user-friendly; with local cookbooks. The dining table is sturdy and capacious. The half bath is elegant. Downstairs, bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms are big. We're not the only ones who love this place. The house journal (what a great tradition) includes testimonials from visitors who consider Pipe Dream their second home. They celebrate life events there and leave house gifts. I think I'll start packing! -- Sharon and Wayne West
