Retreat to the private screened porch or rock on the covered front porch. The large eat-in kitchen is ideal for preparing those memorable vacation meals. A large laundry room and upright freezer add to the convenience of a vacation at Recovery Room.
3 bedrooms: 1 w/King downstairs, 1 w/King upstairs, 1 w/2 Doubles upstairs. Sleeper Sofa. 2.5 baths (1 w/whirlpool tub).
Amenities include central AC/heat, ceiling fans, 4 cable TVs with HBO and Cinemax, VCR/DVD, stereo, CD player, foosball table, board games/puzzles, wireless internet access, phone, washer/dryer, icemaker, blender and upright freezer. The exterior offers covered front porch, a large screened porch, hammock, hammock swing, iron/ironing board, H/C outdoor shower, park style charcoal grill and fish cleaning bench.
No Linens. Pets welcome - no pet fee (maximum 2 pets). NON-SMOKING. Maximum 8 people, including children. Limit 3 vehicles.
Partial week stays of less than a week (3 night minimum) are welcomed at this Outer Banks vacation home and may be booked within 2 weeks of your desired arrival date. We enjoyed our stay in your home. It was just 3 of us and our Golden Retriever Wiley. One of our favorite times was relaxing on the front porch. The hammock was grand! Everything was very homey and comfortable especially the beds. This is our 3rd vacation in Ocracoke and we absolutely love it here. Prior to Ocracoke we vacationed in Hatteras for 7 years. We are no strangers to the Outer Banks and hope to move here one day, if we are so blessed. Your home is very warm and relaxing and we thank you for sharing it with others. We loved our stay in Recovery Room (as usual). We flew from Montana this year so our lab, Abbey, did not come. But she was with us in spirit. The weather was gorgeous this week. Only on day of steady rain and we spend that reading on the porch and in the hammock. The rest of our stay was beautiful beach weather. We feel relaxed and rejuvenated! The redecorated bedrooms upstairs are beautiful. We loved the hardwood floors. We didn't get to parasail this year, but we hope you will continue that tradition. We have enjoyed it in the past. Great weather and a great house! The house is really in an ideal location and very quiet for reset and relaxation - we found the Recovery Room to be just the thing to get some much needed R&R - sure hope we didn't disturb the neighbors with any snoring. We will definantly rent again. -- K & P

This was a wonderful stay at the Recovery Room. My family and I enjoyed the screened porch and the breakfast bar. We had a lot of fun beaching it, parasailing, ski-dooing, shopping, biking, and of course our outings to the ice cream shop and coffee shop. This is our first year staying on Ocracoke. We love the house! It is in a wonderful location and the screened in deck is wonderful! The kids loved the foosball table and everyone loved the large bedrooms and the style and charm of this house. The kitchen was large enough to accommodate the kids and other adults as we prepared meals. The neighborhood is shaded and quiet. The dogs loved the screened in porch too! I have been coming to Ocracoke since the early '70s and regularly since 1990. I have stayed all over the island, and while no place can compare in location to Windmill Point Cottage (which is also one of the most uncomfortable cottages on the island or anywhere!). I've found no place that compares in comfort or amenities to your Recovery Room. This is our second year here, and we love it. We appreciate the porches, the king bed, the spaciousness, the pet friendly policy, and bring part of the village life. -- Zacharias

Thank you so much for offering your home to families that wish to visit Ocracoke. My family has been coming here for over 8 years, twice a year and we always love it. We have stayed in several other rentals and my mom and sister particularly like this one the best. It is our first stay but probably will not be the last. We didn't bring pets, but I love that you are pet friendly. Today it is difficult to find such places because of so many irresponsible pet owners. Thank you for being sympathetic. I know you have nothing to do with it, but the weather worked out beautifully and the beach was relaxing as always. Seems to be a recession on the beach this year, with shells and sand dollars. Guess nothing is safe from the Big "R". Did see several schools of dolphins playing. We enjoyed the new village thrift store as we are all great patrons of thrift shopping. Howard's Pub and Ocracoke Coffee area always favorites. It is now becoming the final minutes and we have to leave (pout, pout).
