 This 3300 square foot home is lavish, yet comfortable, offering both marsh front and distant sound views. Relax in the * hot tub, watch movies in the private movie theater, spend your vacation in the game room, or gaze out over the blowing marsh grasses to the sound! This home has something for everyone! This home showcases four bedrooms. The large kitchen is a must see! It offers stainless steel appliances including: a large side by side refrigerator with ice maker, a smooth top ceramic stove with oven, a microwave oven over range, and a dishwasher. The granite counter tops, vegetable/prep sink, and kitchen bar are just the icing on the cake. There are plenty of small appliances, too! The margarita mixer, smoothie maker, blender, and KitchenAid mixer will make any kitchen task a breeze! Enjoy your favorite beverage with the help of the commercial icemaker, special beverage cooler and prep sink. The full list of features is almost too long to list, but we'll try:

Four bedrooms: (3) with a king, (1) with a set of bunks (2 twins). 4 ½ baths, each full bath features a shower. One of the full baths features a HD 42" TV with Premium Satellite, a shower, and a whirlpool tub "made for 2". The private movie theater is a treat for the senses with its 8 foot movie screen, HD projector, HD Premium Satellite, DVD, and 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound System. The game room offers a stereo system, professional foosball table, an upright arcade style video game system with everything from Donkey Kong to Pac man and a Wii with full controls for 2 people, bring your favorite games! In addition, the game room has a 42" Flat Panel LCD TV and Wii, surround sound speaker system, and more! Each of the 3 bedrooms with a king has a 42" Flat Panel Plasma TV and DVD. The bunk bed room has a 20" LCD TV and DVD. The 8 person * hot tub is located on the rear, furnished porch. The outdoor bar area offers a soda/wine refrigerator. The Hot Tub is available starting March 30, 2013.

The living area features a 50" Plasma HDTV, DVD, a 5.1 Dolby Surround Sound System, and an electric fireplace allowing you to set the mood anytime of year! Other amenities include: central ac/heat, ceiling fans, full size washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, stereo, phone with free domestic long distance service, answering machine, High Definition Premium Satellite Service on every TV, high speed wired/wireless DSL, DVD library, bedside alarm clock's, high chair, port-a-crib and booster seat.

2 hot/cold outdoor showers with dressing room, park style charcoal grill and fish cleaning bench.

Where do I begin…being the 'newest' & hopefully long term member of this 'merry band' of true friends…this past week at 'Solitude' has been unbelievable. Solitude has got to be the most beautiful, comfortable, accommodating, restful residence on the island. From the theatre room, to hot tub, spacious kitchen, more than ample number of tv's to the fame room and the comfortable beds and the views from the multiple decks are awesome! To be able to experience this place and all it offers and to meet and spend time with such a warm, accepting, genuine, down to earth group of new friends, has been a true blessing. This place might be too good! Between the movie room, the hot tub, the game room, the amazing rooftop deck and everything else, some of us in our group never wanted to leave the house. Your house definitely played a role in providing seven out of towners with a picture perfect vacation. During our adventures, two of us spotted more nature than we ever bargained for. The rest of my group were all OBX and Ocracoke regulars, but this was my first time and it will definitely not be my last. It's so sad to be leaving! We had an amazing time here! This is our favorite house on the island. Between the rooms, the hot tub, the movie room, and just everything we can't pick a favorite about the house! We had a great visit to Ocracoke this year! We had good weather and for the one day we didn't we spent it in the movie theatre. All of us went to Howards Pub once per day. Ocracoke Coffee was also an every day stop. First let me say that this house is amazing. We loved every bit. The kids enjoyed the hot tub and the theater room and I just enjoyed the space. Every time we come back to Ocracoke we find something new and wonderful. Last year we discovered the stain glass restoration shop, this year-fig trees. After vacationing here for years, I finally noticed them. We spent a day on Portsmouth Island again this year. We found 11 sand dollars and some scotch bonnets. As far as food, we enjoyed Jason's and Thai Moon. The coffee Co. remains a daily stop as well. We are so sad to have to leave so soon. May everyone have a blessed vacation! -- The Adams

Bummer is right! As much as we love our home, it will be hard to leave this one. We had great weather for most of the week. The beach driving was well worth the extra fuel we burned bringing an SUV. My family and I really enjoyed the house. I am going to have to install a theatre into my house for my wife now. The screened porch is awesome for any time of the day. I know that these stairs did my family's legs some good! You'll get use to them. We have enjoyed Ocracoke Island for years, but "Solitude" gave it a nice spin. We'll be back! -- The Lam Family

The owners of "Solitude" take great attention to outfitting their home with amentities to make their guests happy and comfortable . Everyone was greatly entertained our one rainy day by the game and theatre rooms. One clear night we all sat on the roof deck and observed shooting stars, constellations, the Milky Way and even satellites passing through the night sky. The adults in our party greatly enjoyed the ice machine and whipping up pina coladas in the margarita machine. "Solitude" is unquestionably the nicest home on the island! -- Stacey

Wow! We've been coming to Ocracoke for the past 3 years and this house is by far our favorite. We're already planning next year's vacation @ Solitude! This house had everything to offer, was extremely clean and don't even get us started on the Theater room! Many nights were spent in there watching our favorite films. Every morning was a dream waking up in "Solitude". The weather was perfect, only one cloudy day and it never rained. Nevertheless, we still got to take full advantage of the house and its amenities. The Margarita Machine served us well! We loved all the big TV's and spent a lot of time on the numerous and spacious decks. What views from the top! Can't wait to come back! -- The Starsman

This week at Ocracoke was wonderful. We have been coming to Ocracoke for 12 years. Solitude was by far the most luxurious house we have ever stayed in. So beautiful and so much to do. The beds were very comfy, the theatre room was indescribable-really a lot of fun. The margarita mixer was fun to use and the hot tub, games, hammock, etc. We were never bored. We did manage to get out and enjoy the island. We spent almost every day at the beach for hours playing in the water, collecting shells and just relaxing. Our children couldn't get enough. Bike riding was fun. Basketball out front was fun too. Once again-we will leave in the morning but part of our hearts remain on this enchanted island. We had another family here with us-they had fun too! -- The Smith Family

Love everything about the house. All of us enjoyed the movie room. The game room provided some good hours of family competition. Did enjoy the East-West upstairs deck and got some of the best sun rays ever. Sunny all week, some rain at night. Waves were outstanding for bodysurfing. The home allowed us all to relax together or in our own space. This is our 2nd year in a row to Ocracoke and we will likely return.

We had a great time this week at Solitude but my husband is especially bummed. We are in the process of finishing our family room in Cincinnati and I now have tons of great ideas for making it more comfortable. I love the bookcases with the fireplace and big screen TV and we'll duplicate this at our home. We also loved the wine fridge and ice maker. I also see a margarita machine from Santa this Xmas! We'll be back next year if my husband can afford it after putting in all our toys just like Solitude's.

At last my "dream house". We spent 2 great weeks here with family and friends. This house was always the center of attention. A great 2 weeks of beach. What a wonderful week on Ocracoke! The weather was beautiful with only 1 rainy day. We have enjoyed a week full of good food, playing in the sand and plenty of great memories to take home with us. Our family has enjoyed returning to Ocracoke year after year and this house is by far the best we have stayed in. Our 19 month old loved the bunk bed-first time out of her crib- and our 4 month old was just as happy sleeping with mom and dad on the cozy king bed. End of second year for the McCumseys! Once again - Bummer! I have a hard time going home after one week in this house on this island!! I did manage to do almost everything this house had to offer. Made Margaritas in the fancy machine, made use of the hot tub several times, used the whirlpool tub while watching TV! Sat out on the decks, watched TV in bed, almost beat my youngest in foosball, and we all put the jigsaw puzzle together that I bought and am donating to the house! Hit all the shops at least once, went to the beach 3X, Howards 2X, got beads from the Bead Store and made 2 necklaces, Guys went out fishing 2X, caught lots of mullet (yum!) and slept like babies on those ultra comfy beds!
