TestimonialsSeptember 2010 Back to Ocracoke for our 5th annual Labor Day Week. This marks our 2nd year here in Spindrift and it was awesome. The guys love the dock and went flounder gigging every night in the sound. We enjoyed watching the kids fish off the dock too! Our family and extended family enjoyed our week and made lots of special memories. Thanks for sharing your wonderful house with us. See you in 2011. -- The Cass, Thompson, Smith, Dickens, Schadler Families
August 2010 We came from the Shenandoah Valley for our 4th visit. Fish were caught, good times were had. We'll be back! --
July 2010 We had the privilege of staying in your house this week. What a wonderful time and a wonderful house. The artwork is great fun and the house cozy and functional. Favorite sport is the screened in porches and the rooftop deck. Our time in Ocracoke was spent boating, beaching, fishing and eating-all great things to do here. The weather was terrific. Hope to return someday and wouldn't stay anywhere but right here at Spindrift! Much appreciated the big TV and the DVD. -- The Parrish Family
June 2010 Had a great week! Weather was awesome! Loved the house-4 bathrooms was a lifesaver! A new dishwasher was a blessing. The whole week was a blessing! Thanks, we will be back next year! -- The Peter's and Chadwich's
May 2010 Had some great weather days and some bad weather days, but even a bad weather day is wonderful on this island. We've fished, gotten too much sun, ate too much and overall had a fantastic time! Thank you for sharing your wonderful house with us and we all look forward to returning next year! -- The Martins, The Nimitz's, Hobby's and Yelverton's
September 2009 Our family and extended family enjoyed our 4th annual Labor Day Week at Ocracoke-our 1st year in Spindrift-we will be back! Friends and family from Greenville, Cary, Winston-Salem and West Virginia enjoyed fishing, food and fellowship the entire week. Caught some amazing fish right off the dock-including 2 keepers that were flounder. Weather was rainy most of the week, but a rainy day at Ocracoke is still better than being at home! See you again in 2010. -- The Cass, Smith, Schadler, Clark, & Thompson Families
August 2009 Awesome time! The Outer Banks rock! Fun little island. Good times at the beach. Here with my sis, and family and my 3 kids. We are all the way from the desert ocean of Taos, New Mexico and Taos is one of those cool art colonies full of a blend of different cultures and full of art galleries so…I love all the artwork of this house!! Keep it funky! Ride the wave! Lovin Life! -- The Welches
July 2009 It was spectacular every single minute. Every single beach trip was great. Everyone was a little sun kissed, though we applied lots of sun screen to all willing bodies. We loved riding the bikes around the island, especially to get fudge and ice cream. We didn't rent a boat but the dock added a lot of fun and we had kayaks. Thanks for a great place to stay! -- Nan, Pop, Luke, Mark, Paul, Gabe, Mia & Hannah
July 2009 What a wonderful house! We love the decks. We brought a boat, so this is a great spot. There has been plenty of room for two families. My husband and I lived, worked and met here on Ocracoke, so we come here a lot. This is the first time we have rented a house for the week-it's been great! We'll be back again soon. -- Sue, Scott, Cameron, Chase, Eddie, Kathy, Trae, TJ & Rachel
May 2009 Regrettable leaving for home tomorrow. Once again we had a wonderful time, despite a couple days of rain and high winds. We borrowed a crab pot from Arlene at Ocracoke Seafood Company and caught nearly two dozen crabs. What fun! We rented a boat from Farris and went to Portsmouth Island to shell and do a little clamming. A few days of fishing and also a trip to the Gulf aboard the "Gecko" with Ernie. A great day with a catch of 360 pounds of fish. Lots of shopping and we are over-loaded with purchases for the drive home. We tried the Cafe Atlantic for the 1st time and loved it-best food on the island by far. Although I'll be dreaming of the scallop sandwich from Howard's Pub until we return. Nice improvements with the screens on the porches and beautiful new sofa. This place is wonderful and so relaxing. We love it here! Hopefully, we'll be back soon. Thanks for sharing your home with us. -- The Foxs, Westells, Lloyds
April 2009 Love your house! Right when we walked in, we felt at home! We have been 'pretend natives' for 26 years…favorite house for sure. Please don't get rid of the art work-one of my favorite things-loved looking at each one! The weather wasn't great but we didn't care. We still sat on the top deck and enjoyed beautiful views! It was great having kids and their friends together. Tonight we are celebrating our daughter's 15th birthday-ghost walk and out to dinner. We will be back to Spindrift soon!! -- The Hubbard's
April 2009 What a wonderful home to spend a holiday at. It was very family friendly with many places to play board games or cards. We loved the decks and the view was great. It was a lot of fun to be able to bike to the beach or walk into town for coffee. This home was very comfortable. We loved everything about it. -- The Morris-Knowers, Knowers & Kennedy's
April 2009 We loved the artwork-the variety from whimsical to nautical-traditional to Caribbean to modern. Although it was stormy, cold, windy and overcast, we enjoyed watching the changing seas, the white caps on the sound from the rooftop, and the calm of the canal. We three generations enjoyed each other's company in card games. In the six years we've been coming to Ocracoke your house was the most well-taken care of-thank you! The guide books on star gazing, bird watching and plants were much appreciated-especially by the poets amongst us. The sun came out the last day-oh if only we could stay another week! --
