TestimonialsNovember 2010 Liked staying in your house. Was very bright and cheery. My dog liked the yard. We always stop at Teach's Hole for gifts to take back for family. Thank your for the use of the house. We enjoyed it. -- Carroll Seitz & Lucille Decker
October 2010 This has been a wonderful week with great weather and much fun on the beach! We rode our bikes everywhere. We gathered a ton of beautiful seashells this week! Tuition is a great, comfortable and well located home! We tried Ocracoke Pizza Co. for the first time and had wonderful meals from there! October 12th was our 20th anniversary and we could not have had a better place to spend it than on Ocracoke Island. Looking forward to our next visit! -- Elise & James
September 2010 The weather was excellent-no rain, no clouds. We enjoyed the beach daily, riding bikes, fishing and going to Zillie's wine tasting. Fun times with great friends who told us about this place! Looking forward to returning next year! -- Bryan, Christine & Libby
August 2010 Our rental property was very nice. We enjoyed your home. We had a wonderful time with our dog on this vacation. We really enjoyed having Scooter with us. We hope to stay at that location next year. Nice fenced in private yard! Also a nice quiet street with the perfect location to walk to shops and restaurants! We will be making reservations for next year! Have a great year!
Your staff was wonderful, however, I apologize, because I do not have the nice lady's name that help us with our reservation..... Before our trip, i threw the paper away that had her name on it. Good job! -- The Grier family
August 2010 We loved beach walking, collecting shells, riding bikes and just exploring the town. There are wonderful restaurants to eat at! We enjoyed sitting on the porch talking and drinking wine or just reading. Loved our week here! -- Barbie, Lorie & Joanne
August 2010 Weather was wonderful. There were a few thunderstorms at night that Tucker didn't appreciate but our last beach day was the best. Had two wonderful evenings at Cafe Atlantic. Brie had her first visit to the Ragpicker. Tucker dug himself a big hole on the beach our last day. We enjoyed pausing on our walks home from dinner just to gaze up at the stars which you can see so clearly here. We also liked watching pelicans dive into the ocean after fish. -- Jeff, Brie & Tucker
August 2010 Sunny and hot weather with short bursts of thunderstorms. Visited the lighthouse, explored the shops and sunbathed on the beach. We found lots of seashells and a giant horse-shoe crab shell! We celebrated our honeymoon…it was lovely! Enjoyed our stay here. Ocracoke is the place to be! We'll definitely vacation down here for many years to come! -- Meagan & Justin Reed
December 2009 The weather was a little rainy and windy but that's ok since where I came from they're expecting snow! Walked the beach with not a soul in sight, marveled at the birds and found an almost perfect Scotch Bonnet. Found a fantastically shaped driftwood. Observed the seagulls eating out of shells that they must have carried to the road and dashed to the ground to open. I've been away from Ocracoke too long. I couldn't come last year due to financial constraints but a little refinancing gave me enough extra to book Tuition once again! Happy 49th birthday to me. The only bad part about being here is having to leave! Flash has gone to the bridge but is with me in spirit. I miss him but I can still see him chasing frogs in the yard and laying on the couch… -- Ellen
November 2009 Enjoyed exploring the island, running with the dogs, chasing the waves and laughing. Thanks very much for opening your home. Great time of year for a brief respite from 'the grind'. -- Jim & Cathy
October 2009 We celebrated our 19th anniversary with candlelit dinner on the screened porch. Beautiful days on the beach. Loved visiting our favorite shops and watching seagulls, the flowers and loved this wonderful, cozy home. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us and for allowing us to bring our pups-they had a great time too! -- James & Elise
October 2009 As always, we enjoyed being cozy and comfortable in Tuition. Freeway loves the fenced yard and the large bird that sits on the pole. Enjoyed the beach, the quiet, the restaurants - read a lot. Mostly great weather, an incredible thunderstorm and amazing sunsets! Great dinners from local restaurants and cozy dinners at home. Ocracoke is a special place and Tuition a special house. It's perfect for the two of us and our special dog. We spent sunny days and cozy nights-we love the library, the bookstore, Kathleen O'Neal's jewelry and the peace and quiet. -- Noreen & Alan
September 2009 Ocracoke is one of our favorite places in the world. Love the location so near the Coffee Shop! Having a fenced yard is great as well! A cozy and comfortable home. --
August 2009 We celebrated our 1 year anniversary and Gregg's 44th birthday. We saw everything we could-one week here is not enough! Loved watching the stars at night and also the sunrises and sunsets. -- Gregg & Debbie
July 2009 This was our 4th stay at Tuition since 2002. It was good to finally meet Mr. Rex, Tuition's dad. Thanks Rex for coming to get our oven lit. Thanks again for this nice little house and its welcome mat for pets. -- Symkowiak, Danny & Ginny
July 2008 The weather was stellar, sunny and hot. We went to the beach, found shells, enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere. We discovered the true beauty of this island. We enjoyed spending time with family. Watching everyone's faces riding the waves. Lots of smiling and fun and our dog loved chasing crabs and digging in the sand. This is one of the best beaches ever. We love how it is not overcrowded. We will come back for many years to come. -- Travis, Nicole, Drew and Daisy
July 2008 We came to Ocracoke on our honeymoon! Both of us have visited here before, but we never stayed. We have really enjoyed the island, the house and having a place for Roxie to run around! Our honeymoon was great and we plan to return and stay on the island again. We went to the beach every day. We found many sea shells! -- Adam, Heather and Roxie
June 2008 We discovered Ocracoke all over again. Each time we come it is as though we are coming home to a gemstone spot on the planet. Loved the renovations to Tuition. We came here first time to this house in 2002. Since then, we have only missed one year. Thank you for letting your house be pet friendly. We sat on the porch for hours reading, even at night, ate wonderful seafood and visited gift shops and old friends. -- The Symkowiaks and the Poodles
May 2008 This was Gabbie's 1st trip to the beach. Rented a boat for fishing, surf fished and Joe caught a 50lb red drum! This was our first 2 weeks off in 14 years of marriage! What a great time, but it surely went by very quickly. We will be back! -- Joe, Carol and Gabbie Grace
September 2007 The house was just perfect for me and my family, including Scarlett the Airedale Terrier and Rochester the Fox Terrier. The location was great as a central starting point for our trips to the beach and throughout town. The dogs enjoyed having a fenced in yard in which to both play and relax. Thank you for making our vacation so perfect. The house is great for a family with a baby and two furry babies. We found everything we needed in your home. Until next time, Ocracoke! -- Matt, Anya, Irineand Nicholas
