Amenities include central AC/heat, ceiling fans, microwave, five burner stainless steel gas stove, dishwasher, waffle maker, small standalone ice machine, sheets provided (NO towels), satellite service with 2 TV's, DVD, DSL internet access, telephone and washer/dryer. Additional amenities include DVD and book library, clock radios, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and board games/puzzles. The exterior offers a large backyard leading to a sandy beach, 2 single kayaks, hot/cold outdoor shower, picnic table and charcoal grill. Two screened porches, deck swing and hammock swing.
Effective 2012, rental does not include use of Dock, Fish Cleaning Bench, Watercraft Launch, Hammock or Gazebo.

We are sitting in the dark, writing this by the light of our flashlight after a perfect week of wonderful weather. This last day we had strong winds, rain showers followed by a power outage. The only places with power were the larger restaurants, Variety Store and Health Center…we are not complaining though! We are enjoying the booming thunder and flashes of lightning over the sound. It is incredibly beautiful and the warm breeze feels fantastic. We were going to pack, but we can't right now. So we decided to enjoy the quiet moment before we hit I95 tomorrow. This is our 3rd time staying here. We like the new modifications. The house is great and we love the dock! We enjoyed kayaking, flying kites, surfing, shopping, swimming and much more. Nothing beats an outdoor hot shower in the cool rain! That was amazing! -- Lori & David

We came to Ocracoke disappointed, tired and discouraged. Our family vacation that we had planned ended up being just the 2 of us and our little dog. The house for 6 seemed like a waste for just us. The weather was bad and we were even more convinced that this had been nothing but a huge mistake. As the week went on, even during the torrential rains we had, we began to relax, we began to laugh, we took walks to the village (between rain storms), we shopped in stores we had never discovered before, we went to the coffee shop and shopped in the thrift store. Our forced solitude began to be a blessing. Then the weather improved and we actually took the kayaks out and explored the sound. The week that began feeling like a mistake became a huge blessing instead. Water's Edge and its comfortable and charming interior, wonderful views, fantastic dock and the kayaks were a huge blessing. This is our first time in the Outer Banks and on Ocracoke, and we have been absolutely thrilled with our experience! Water's Edge is the perfect spot for us-we spent a few days doing nothing but relaxing and finding new places to sit. We spent a day fishing offshore with Capt. Ernie of the Gecko, passed several days at the beach and spent most evenings on the back porch watching the sunset. Our two dogs had a wonderful time chasing fish off the dock and the ducks were a joy-they followed us around the yard. The amenities and comfortable feel of this home made for a wonderful home away from home. Thank you so much for renting out your home. Thanks so much for sharing your house. This is the first time, after 30 years on Ocracoke, when we've had plenty of comfy places to sit and read and enough light to read by. And a dock to die for. We have all relaxed here. The loan of the kayaks is especially nice, as we are dedicated kayakers. Swimming in the sound has been a treat, too, as has cooking. What a great place to cook. We had bluefish, Spanish mackerel, drum, shrimp and scallops...first two caught ourselves. Tried for the mullet off the dock, but no luck. Thanks for a lovely time.
