2011 Photo Contest Winners Announced

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in making the 2011 Ocracoke Island Realty Photo Contest a great success. The 1,144 photos submitted captured the spirit that makes Ocracoke so special to everyone who visits and calls Ocracoke "home."

Once again, the photo contest proved that our guests are amazing photographers. We look forward to sharing many more photos with you throughout the year. Please make sure to keep an eye out for additional photos on our Facebook page and featured throughout the year on our website.

Several Ocracoke Island Realty employees viewed the many spectacular photos that reflected memorable vacations and the beauty of Ocracoke Island. After much consideration, discussion, and several rounds of voting we are happy to announce the grand prize and category winners.

Thank you to all who entered our contest. It was great fun viewing your photos. We look forward to the 2012 Ocracoke Island Realty Photo Contest.

Grand Prize Winner

Congratulations to our Grand Prize and People Category Winner, Rhoda Byers of Wylie, TX. Rhoda will receive a $250 Gift Certificate good toward a stay at anytime in any Ocracoke Island Realty vacation property.

"My brother introduced us to Ocracoke in 2009 when he was married on the lifeguard beach. At that time he wasn't able to spend much time with the nieces and nephews. Dad surprised his three kids and their families at Christmas with vacation rental on Ocracoke so we could have another adventurous vacation. My brother was able to spend time with the kids this time. This picture depicts three of the kids following their patient uncle to a fishing lesson. This picture was taken at an inlet close to the Hatteras Ferry stop."
