"House could use a deep clean. Top floor ac plus the 3 window units could not handle the heat and humidity. 2nd floor bedroom ceiling had mold growrh and the ceiling fan pull chain was gone. Some of the furniture needs replacing. It is one of the larger and nicer homes we have been in, but needs to be kept-up/repaired/updated to warrant the high rent."

"The house is great and we enjoyed our stay very much!
I would ask to improve: air conditioning on kitchen/living room floor did not seem to ever get cool. It was pretty warm whereas the first floor (main bedroom level was deliciously cool:)
Also, the bed (king bedroom with shared bathroom on first floor) is quite creaky and noisy making private time not very private at all.
Otherwise, an awesome house, thank you!!"

"Great Island - Check in time was 5:00 and in the offseason we did not receive the text message until 4:59. The house was probably ready before that but rental company was closed on Sunday so there was no way to communicate with anyone."

"September 2016 Stay - This is our 2nd stay in this lovely home. It is very well equipped, comfortable and just an all around relaxing environment. We really enjoy the art in the home and also kept up on some weight training during this visit. We needed to after frequenting the restaurants and the seafood market. Love the new washer and dryer. Strange, I know..but it made doing laundry a cinch. In the past, we had to make the bed upon arrival. The bed was made for us this year. That was so nice after a long day of travel. The linen and towels provided were really nice. The home was neat and clean, as all OIR houses have been that we have stayed in over the years. We spent a lot of time on the screened porch that provides generous seating and wood tables. It is perfectly located to watch the sunsets.
We went to Gaffer's for Sunday football. We even had the moai statue dawning Raven's gear for the first game of the season and our Ravens won 13-7. Just saying!

All bells & whistles checked. Great vacation rental team and the house was spectacular. Weve been coming to Ocracoke for over 30 years, and this was definitely the best visit yet. "

This house was amazing! We were able to fit 7 people with no problems. So many open areas to congregate at. Also a multi level deck with amazing views of the ocean, sound, and village. The artwork in the house was fun to look at, they have great taste. Especially the big statue in the foyer (he ended up wearing a Charlotte hornets ballcap for most of the week). We are already talking about making sure we can all stay in that house again. Our friends the Norvells live two streets over (poker player), so that made it very convenient for them to be that close to come visit and eat dinner with us several nights. Just got home and already dreaming of next year! "

This has been one of the best vacation for my family and extended family. The house is wonderful, a bit out of the way of the rush of the village, but it suited our family great! My kids had a wonderful time and are already planning a return trip next year! Can't wait to return to Island time!"
