"House is starting to have more issues. AC kept turning off but my husband knew how to reset it. Screen on entry door was duct taped in many spots. During rain duct tape came off so we retaped as best we could. Back screen door would not open properly but my husband adjusted it. One of chairs on screen porch needs help. Toilet is very slowly refilling. We are mainly outdoors and my husband is very handy so we were fine but others may not be."

"We love Ocracoke, it's people, the Sea Biscuit. NP01 is our kind of place, small, old, worn, uncomfortable with a great porch and a great view. The listing describes that it sleeps 8. While technically that may be true, sleeping 8 in the Sea Biscuit would be like sleeping with three soon to be very close friends in a VW Bug. The bathroom is tiny with a shower that leaks water onto the floor creating unique funk on the nose; imagine sharing that with 7 other people. The new outdoor shower is fantastic. I guess we just need a comfortable bed, good porch, working kitchen and wifi (we don't need TV, washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc.). So, one out of four’s pretty good, right? Having said that, the bunks might best be used for kids or smaller Navy recruits to toughen them up. Warning: when the sofa bed is open you will inevitably splinter your shins on the built-in benches, wear field hockey shin guards! The space is so tight that a couple will be on top of each other (which we don't mind, but some may) The fridge is busted up, one of the stove burners hasn't worked in at least a half a decade, and the wifi harkens back to dial-up, all of which we can work around. The front screen door is perpetually shredded by the misplaced outdoor light and the porch screens are in constant need of repair. Nothing has changed in "The Shack", as we endearingly refer to it, since 1959 and we like it that way. It's about the size of Motel 6 room, which is all we need; nevertheless, it is increasingly challenging to justify a $300/nt. price. Tres cher."

"We stay every year for our anniversary week, and we love this little house with its amazing views. Thank you so much for adding the outdoor shower this year. We missed the one Dorian took out—this one is very much appreciated. Until next year…"

Perfect Views!
This home was perfect for 2! The views were out of this world, the sunsets in the evenings make you never want to leave. The home is small but our dog loved sitting on the screened porch. The bed could use an upgrade but other than that we loved it! Would definitely stay here in the future!!!"

Return to Sea Biscuit
This was our second stay in two years at this rustic house with best views around! The screen porch is perfect for chilling and so glad since last year the owners have limbed up the trees with much better views from the porch. Thanks for being pet friendly since our SADIE Mae loved it also! We slept on the pull out sofa every night and used the bunk room for our closet since it was just my hubby and me. We had an issue with a step to the deck and within a couple hours it was replaced. Cable line got cut and repaired within few hours. Customer service with OIR is top notch! Would love easier access into the water vs the ladder especially for our SADIE but we managed. Thanks for sharing this gem! "

"Sharon & Paul Hartman July 2018 Stay
Even with the rains, the location and views made our whole vacation beautiful. We loved the photographic history of the family and house. Can't wait to come back next year!"
