"As always, we had a wonderful time in Ocracoke this past week! The Shrimp House is a super cute cottage and very clean. The decor is the way I decorate so it felt like home. My only suggestion would be to update locks to a passcode. It took us awhile to open and lock the doors. You have to turn it gentle and just the right way to get it to lock or open. We also had to lock the cottage where the bedrooms are from the outside each night and go in through the screened porch. You could not securely lock from the inside. We were frustrated a few times. After we got the hang of it- we felt better and more secure leaving our things in the house. This is just a suggestion but I felt it important enough to share with you. "

"We love Shrimp House. We would love it more if a small, drawer style or apartment style dishwasher were installed. But that won't keep us from coming back. We applaud the owners for creating a comfortable beach retreat with wonderful art and decor. Whether it rains or shines we are always happy to be at Shrimp House."

"Perfect for family of 4 - so nice to be able to walk a few minutes to the coffeee shop early in the morning. A loft for the teenager and a bedroom for daughter and third bed for parents. Lovely screened porch on very quiet street surrounded by lush vegitation. A lovely retreat."

Home away from home
This is our fifth year staying in the Shrimp House. We absolutely adore this property; it is really our home away from home. It's located on a quiet back street, but close to all the necessities (particularly the Ocracoke Coffee Co) and the edge of the village closest to beach access. The divided blueprint is fun and offers the opportunity to really spread out and settle in for relaxation. The furniture is comfy and there are air conditioning units in every room. This little house is perfect for our small family of 3, though it could comfortably sleep more. We envision returning annually for many years to come."

Our stay at the cottage for a family getaway was fantastic! The layout of the house is both interesting and unique. The screened in porch was great for meals especially with the cool breeze generated by the fans.we enjoyed our time here and would book the rental again!"

My kids and I had a great experience. I was very impressed with the condition and decor of the property. Very fresh and thoughtful and really makes the most of the bones of the property. The a/c unit in the kitchen house is a little shaky and the foliage around the deck and the driveway need to be trimmed back, but overall a great little house and the pride in ownership and thoughtfulness of this owner(s) really shines through.I would stay here again for sure. Well done ."
