Description

Located in the Up Trent neighborhood on Ocracoke Island, in a grove of bay and cedar trees, this pet friendly home is a naturalist's hideaway. The Cedar Cottage is a short distance from a shallow canal which leads to the sound and is perfect for the canoeing or kayaking enthusiast. Enjoy great breezes on the extra large wrap-around screened porch. Its rooftop deck boasts views of the sound and saltmarsh.

While this cottage does Not have air conditioning, the many windows and doors allow for maximum cross ventilation and flow through breezes!

Each bedroom has deck access. Take a nap or read a book while you enjoy the breezes on the large furnished screened in porch too!

4 bedrooms, 1.5 Baths: 1 with a Queen, 2 with Double, 1 with two Twins.

NO AIR CONDITIONING. NO HEAT (there is one small gas heat wall unit in the dining area capable of warming a small area of the house). No Phone.

Amenities include wireless internet access, satellite TV and DVD player. However, No Air Conditioning or Heat. The kitchen offers a microwave and dishwasher. Washer and dryer.

Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made for your arrival.

Exterior offers a large screened porch, decks, lookout deck, picnic table, hot/cold outdoor shower and a park style charcoal grill.

No Smoking. Pet friendly. Limit of 4 vehicles.

Military Discount Available. Discount can only be applied at time of booking.

Short Stays are available, there is a three night minimum.


Property Layout:

First Floor: Open kitchen, dining and living area with TV/DVD. Half Bath with washer/dryer.

Second Floor: Bedroom with Queen bed. Two Bedrooms, each with a Double bed. Bedroom with two Twin beds. Bath with tub/shower.

*Bikes, Beach Items, Cottage and Baby Items, and more are available through Beach Outfitters. Advance orders of Beach Outfitters items can be made any time prior to your arrival by calling Ocracoke Island Realty.

Cedar Cottage has the best screened porch on the island. We spent lots of time on the porch reading, playing cards, and watching the birds and the feral cats. We eat most of our meals on the picnic table on the porch.

We had a beautiful week in Ocracoke! This is our 3rd visit and our 1st visit where we brought family and friends to enjoy one of our favorite places! The house was great, My only recommendation would be the investment of AC for guest comfort. Ocracoke realty has taken great care of us each visit we have had to the island, and this year was no exception! Ocracoke will always be a magical place for us, and we are so thankful to have found a beautiful home away from home on the island. We are already counting the days away until next years beach retreat!
