Description

Enjoy this cozy cottage for two. Nicely decorated and surprisingly spacious and private. Located on a canal in Oyster Creek with views and easy access to Pamlico Sound. This cottage features docking at the back door with a fish cleaning bench and dock ladder allowing easier access for kayaks.

1 Bedroom, 1.5 Baths: Bedroom with Queen. A Queen Size Sleeper Sofa in living area allows for flexible sleeping arrangements. Bathroom has a shower stall.

The loft style bedroom is accessed by a ladder style stairway (no railing). Located off the bedroom is an alcove with desk and an open bathroom with shower.

Amenities include A/C units and portable electric heaters (minimal heat), ceiling fans, complimentary wireless internet access, 2 cable TVs and 2 DVD players. Washer and dryer.

Sheets and towels are provided. Bed is made for your arrival.

The exterior offers private boat dockage, bulkhead, a large screened porch, hot/cold outdoor shower and charcoal grill. 2 single kayaks. Life jackets are not provided, if you wish to rent them, please contact Ride The Wind Surf Shop. They will be happy to assist.

No Dishwasher. No electric fireplace available.

No Smoking. No Pets Allowed. Limit of 2 vehicles.

Military Discount Available. Discount can only be applied at time of booking.

Short Stays are available, there is a three night minimum.

First Floor: Living Area with TV/DVD, Queen Sleep Sofa. Eat-in Kitchen. Half Bath with washer/dryer.

Second Floor: Open Loft Bedroom with Queen Bed, TV/DVD. Semi-private Bath with shower.

Needs some TLC, and Orkin Services STAT!

Well we loved it at first, was cute and cuddly! Then we find the WiFi is less that 1MG download, but the worst thing was the cockroaches! Really!!! We have rented seven different properties over five years and NEVER saw a roach in any other property! We walked in and there was a dead one in the kitchen, three days later another huge one half alive. (They know there is a problem) we found the powder found in the lower bathroom! Then a third showed up one evening after we came back from dinner. My wife and I aren’t this kind of people at all, (I don’t leave reviews on anything) but we CAN NOT recommend this place at all! Now OIR has been awesome and we love them but the owner of this property needs to pull it and clean it up and make it better please. They DO NOT deserve anyone’s hard earned money!

I can assure you that all of our properties are signed up for professional pest control services as we realize that the damp, beach environment can be conducive to pests. We are so very sorry that you experienced such issues. As for internet service on the island, it is a constant struggle and we are working hard to come up with some alternatives to help provide better more reliable service to our guests. We certainly understand the need for reliable and fast internet service in today's new world of remote learning and working. At any time if you have such issues again (which unfortunately do happen) we have provided an open wifi signal for our guests that can be accessed at the rental office. We are here to help you in any way that we can! I hope that despite the issues you describe that you were able to enjoy Ocracoke and all the wonderful things that it has to offer.

Enjoyed our stay-house is very nice/comfortable for 2 people. Had some problems with internet service not always available-but that was to be expected on the island. A couple things that could be helpful: need dish towels and potholders - had 1 potholder (not in great shape) and no dish towels (which would have been nice since you need to hand wash dishes).Also-great that we had access to 2 kayaks-however, unless you are in really good physical shape, it is VERY difficult to access the canal. (That was one of the selling points we used for this property- really looked forward to using them))The ladder needs repair (we had to use the kayak ropes to secure the ladder to the dock)-at least 1 more step is needed to the ladder. My husband is 6 ft and had to jump to reach the bottom rung-and then just barely got it. So I didn't even bother to try to use the kayaks. (He only used one the one time due to the difficulty). Best bet in my opinion-forget them and just rent one at Silver Lake. But-overall-NICE stay!

This was our first visit to the Island and we both loved the quaint relaxing atmosphere. Clammers is a small unit located on a quiet dead end road on the canal. It fits two people comfortably. Small refrigerator and stove for light cooking and a small charcoal grill out back. A full size washer and dryer located in the half bath on main floor. The full bath upstairs has a small shower with curtain. Everything seems to be well maintained and if you have any concerns or problems you can call the realty or contact them through an app that they ask you to download. I really like the app that the Ocracoke Realty has for their renters. This app provides information on your rental and items you need to bring with you. It also shares information of things available for your stay such as golf cart, bike, boat and kayak rentals. Listings of restaurants and shops that are located on the Island. Our stay was enjoyable and relaxing and hope to return.

I did not see a fire detector on the first floor which was concerning. Overall the house is sea cabin quaint and the kayaks were wonderful!

Clammers is a great canal location ideal for a small family. As it was just the three of us this vacation, it offered that "just right feel" of comfort. I must say I felt it was a bit overpriced for its size comparable to other homes we've stayed. It was 99% clean though underneath the sleeper sofa was not vacuumed, the dish drainer had to be cleaned before first use, and we saw/killed several ants in the downstairs bathroom and in upstairs bedroom. Lastly, the front screen door doesn't close easily or at all during the hot part of the day. These were the ONLY negatives. Otherwise, everything was in great working condition and we very much enjoyed the stay. Use of the kayak was much appreciated since it was my first time out. A little difficult boarding from the high dock but I managed to do so without taking a swim. We enjoyed crabbing and fishing from the dock...the wife REALLY loves her blue crab. As for local establishments...we had Jason's, Howard's, Captain Puddle Ducks' Steamers, Sweet Tooth and Gr


Clammers is a cozy cottage for two people that offers a loft style bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living area which allows for flexible sleeping arrangements. Due to the size of the cottage and the floor plan we find this the perfect option for two!
