Description

This historic Ocracoke Island vacation cottage still maintains much of the original island charm while offering updates including a newer eat-in kitchen. Purple Martin is old fashioned, yet quaint. Enjoy the appeal of this historic neighborhood, located near the Ocracoke Lighthouse, a pleasant stroll to Silver Lake Harbor and Springer's Point Nature Preserve. Relax on the large front screened porch and enjoy great views from rooftop deck.

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths: 2 with Queen, 1 with 2 Double. Living Room Sleeper Sofa.

Amenities include central air conditioning/heat, wireless internet access, cable TV with DVD player. The kitchen offers a microwave and dishwasher. Phone. Washer and dryer.

The exterior offers a large screened porch, picnic table, hammock, deck, rooftop lookout, hot/cold outdoor shower, park style charcoal grill and fish cleaning bench.

*This home does not provide linens.

No Smoking. No Pets Allowed. Limit of 3 vehicles.

Short Stays are available, there is a three night minimum.

New for 2020: No Phone.

First Floor:
Open kitchen and dining area. Living room with TV and Queen Sleeper Sofa. Hallway bathroom with tub/shower. Laundry Room.

Second Floor: Two adjoining bedrooms, one with Queen and one with two Doubles. Additional Queen bedroom with deck access. Hallway bathroom with tub/shower.

We enjoyed our vacation on Ocracoke and Ocracoke Island Realty as usual. Purple Martin was spotless when we arrived, and it was even available to us early. The house was comfortable and the amenities were wonderful. The crow's nest was nice to sit on in the evenings and watch stars. We may return later this summer depending on how things go at home; otherwise, we'll see you next summer!

This is a great home with lots of room and character. It is quiet but not too far away from "downtown". This was our second stay in the home and our first "off season" visit. I know there are a lot of great rentals on the island but we love coming back to the Purple Martin. Sunrise photo was taken from the crow's nest.
