"Fourth time we’ve rented Better days. Unfortunately the house was in its worst shape. House had a terrible smell when we arrived. Floor was sandy. Dishes were dirty and every time something was used it had to be cleaned first including all of the silverware. Found woman’s underwear behind the couch in the master bedroom, easy to see. "

"Better Days was a wonderful house for our family vacation. We made great seafood meals in the large kitchen. We played card and board games on the front porch and dining room table. We ate a couple of meals on the back deck. It is in a great location. We spent much time at Ocracoke Coffee. We rented bikes and biked everywhere. The house is close to the beach, hiking trails, stores, restaurants and the brewery. My children even biked over for a yoga class nearby. This was one of our best family trips. The house was comfortable and functional for our purposes. We hope to come back to this property again."

"September 2016 Stay - wonderful week on Ocracoke. This is our 3rd year in Better days. we have been coming to the outer Banks for over 35 years, mainly Hatteras Island. Ocracoke is by far the best. Better days is the best house we have ever stayed in. The amenities, the location and fenced yard and screened porch were all great. Thanks to the Gaskill's for a great home, and letting us stay there.

"August 2016 Stay - It was a very nice house. We have rented houses on the island for decades and this was by far the nicest one we have stayed in. Close to everything, very clean, everything worked and a fabulous kitchen. We bought seafood and cooked most nights.
It was the perfect base of operations for the whole extended family - some spent more time in town and others on the beach - but we all met up later in the day for good food and conversation. We hope to rent this location again."

Better Days was a wonderful and very comfortable home. The fenced in large back yard was perfect for our golden retriever traveling companion. The kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils and pots/pans needed for cooking. Loved the gas stove and the washer and dryer were very nice. Back right flood lights need to be replaced but the left side worked perfectly. The front screened porch with ceiling fans is where we spent quite a few lazy hours after morning beach or exploring time. The beds are very comfy and having linens provided is most welcome and convenient after a long travel day. We had such a nice stay and hope to be back soon. "
