Not worth the cost
My family loves Ocracoke! This was our 21st summer coming to Ocracoke and we have stayed at numerous houses on the island. We decided to splurge this summer and stay at Last Clear Chance for 2 weeks with some extended family for my husband’s 50th birthday. We were disappointed with this property. There were several issues with the house- the oven was inoperable, there is some issue with the thermostat (showing 80 degrees but like a freezer inside), refrigerator door would not stay closed ( had to put a cutting board in handles to keep the door closed), the tv is extremely dated and cuts in and out, one couch’s back is broken, the 4th bedroom with bunks has no air vent and was extremely hot and the front door does not stay closed. We have stayed at properties with 3-4 bedrooms and similar size that cost about $1000 less per week that did not have these issues associated with neglect. We can’t wait to be back next summer but will stay at another house.

All bells & whistles checked. Great vacation rental team and the house was spectacular. Weve been coming to Ocracoke for over 30 years, and this was definitely the best visit yet.

This house was amazing! We were able to fit 7 people with no problems. So many open areas to congregate at. Also a multi level deck with amazing views of the ocean, sound, and village. The artwork in the house was fun to look at, they have great taste. Especially the big statue in the foyer (he ended up wearing a Charlotte hornets ballcap for most of the week). We are already talking about making sure we can all stay in that house again. Our friends the Norvells live two streets over (poker player), so that made it very convenient for them to be that close to come visit and eat dinner with us several nights. Just got home and already dreaming of next year!

This has been one of the best vacation for my family and extended family. The house is wonderful, a bit out of the way of the rush of the village, but it suited our family great! My kids had a wonderful time and are already planning a return trip next year! Can't wait to return to Island time!

This is our 2nd stay in this lovely home. It is very well equipped, comfortable and just an all around relaxing environment. We really enjoy the art in the home and also kept up on some weight training during this visit. We needed to after frequenting the restaurants and the seafood market. Love the new washer and dryer. Strange, I know..but it made doing laundry a cinch. In the past, we had to make the bed upon arrival. The bed was made for us this year. That was so nice after a long day of travel. The linen and towels provided were really nice. The home was neat and clean, as all OIR houses have been that we have stayed in over the years. We spent a lot of time on the screened porch that provides generous seating and wood tables. It is perfectly located to watch the sunsets. We went to Gaffer's for Sunday football. We even had the moai statue dawning Raven's gear for the first game of the season and our Ravens won 13-7. Just saying! We arrived right after Hermine and could not believe how
