Another Great Stay
This was a wonderful holiday in a comfortable, well-equipped, charming house. Our second stay. Furnishings have been updated and are lovely."

I was a little wary after reading the past reviews, but decided to book Fresh Fruit based on the pictures, dates of the past reviews and my acceptance level. I'm so glad we stayed here. It is a super charming cottage on an incredibly peaceful dead end street. It looks as though new owners did a hefty overhaul on furnishings and did so in a high-end fashion. The bright colors and tasteful decor sets this rental apart from your run-of-the-mill beach rentals. Everything was within close proximity. We rented bikes and a golf cart for a member of the family who was injured before our trip and could get to the shops, restaurants and everything else in no time flat. The beds were very comfortable and the quilts were beautiful. Bring your own bedding and towels. All appliances were clean and the kitchen was well-stocked. Please be mindful if you are bringing your pet that the sofas are white, so it may be a good idea to bring something to cover the cushions since the shade on the property can leave some mud after storms. We will be back! "

Fresh Fruit not very fresh
We really like the location and the cottage layout. It is very quiet and peaceful. The screened porch and swing is a great place to just hang out. The cluster of trees makes it feel hidden. It is very close to the Ocracoke Coffee Shop. The combo lock is convenient. There are French doors on the screened porch that do not lock so a burglar could enter fairly easily. The top rack in the dishwasher won't pull out all the way. The oven door handle is partially broken so we must be careful pulling it open. The king bed is not a standard king bed because the fitted bottom sheets don't fit. The king bed is over-size."

I agree with Sandra from Durham. We had a great time, our 2nd time in Fresh Fruit, also. OIR makes it also easy and effortless; they always do a great job! The location is so private and close to all restaurants and activities. Being there over the 4th of July was fun. You cant beat the Ocracoke beaches! We drove onto the beach and had it all to ourselves. No crowds, just the surf, ocean breeze, white sand, and,of course, sea birds!"

Great house! Just the right amount of space on a quiet street. Enjoyed riding bikes in the trail near the house. We appreciated the motion lights under the house. I would definitely recommend this house to a friend!"

We loved our few days at Fresh Fruit which were unfortunately cut short due to the evacuation order for Hurricane Matthew. It's a warm and welcoming home on a quiet dead-end street. Love the location and the screened porch swing. Two areas needing improvement are the interior lighting in the living spaces and the beds. The lamps need bettering I quality bulbs with greater light output so one can read comfortably in he evening's. The beds are extra firm, which we found uncomfortable for a good night's rest. When it's time to replace the mattresses, please consider the Hilton mattresses; https://www.hiltontohome.com/product.aspx?Mattress-Box-Spring. My husband travels extensively and frequently stays in Hilton properties. Although the two of us prefer different levels of mattress firmness, we both love the Hilton beds and sleep well on them. "
