The view was lovely, and the new dock lovely for sitting. The beds were so uncomfortable that my husband actually slept on the couch because it hurt less than the bed. Also, most of the windows, and the porch door, do not close properly so the cold wind howled through them making the whole place quite chilly (we had 40degree temps and crazy wind) The main window overlooking the harbor has leaked for so long that there is a hole in the floor. This place has so much potential it's sad to see it not well kept. The location is great and the views fabulous., but without some upgrades we will not be staying here again.

The condo was very clean and the location is great. The beds are not comfortable and just need to be replaced. The kitchen is very small with only the basics supplied. The refrigerator filters need to be replaced. The door lock on to the balcony needs to be fixed.

What a great view..... The condo its self is very nice , however it seems they just renovated and I would suggest them putting in more towel racks in the bathrooms to accommodate wet towels /hand towels ect ,labeling the three remotes and explaining what each one would do as this was a little confusing when we first came in. The Beds werent really comfortable...Also the refrigerator needed both filters replacing ,the door out to the front balcony also needs attention .Having stayed on the island quite a few times I dont think we would return to this particular location.it also would help to give the full info on WiFi ....not just the password as there were quite a few addresses popped up ...we loved our stay on this beautiful island and will definitely return .

This was our third trip to Ocracoke, and our second time renting property from Ocracoke Island Realty. We are always pleased with the service and the quality of the property we are renting. This trip we rented Pirate's Quay 1 North. We absolutely loved this space. Very updated and clean. The local neighbors were very friendly and offered assistance with anything at all. We called for some maintenance on the front door handle, and it was taken care of immediately, almost magically while we were out.We definitely plan to return to Ocracoke in the future and will definitely rent from OIR again.Cynthia Hardy - St. Albans Bay, Vermont

It was sad to hear of the issues at Pirate's Quay but of course it resulted in some nice upgrades to Unit 1N. The range is very nice and so is the fridge. Otherwise it is the same great place save for one serious issue. We would give this location 5 stars, except for one item. The mattresses in that unit are extremely soft. Both my wife and I experienced serious back issues from attempting to sleep on the master bed. Eventually we were relegated to sleeping on the sofa, recliner and floor. They really need to be replaced with something with some greater degree of firmness, even if they are cheapies. Hands down I have not slept on a worse mattress during my many travels ever. And I have stayed in some pretty off the grid places. We would already be booked for our next trip but honestly I don't think we can stay there again unless they are replaced. Otherwise, save for a little rainy weather, Ocracoke was its usual wonderful respite from our hectic world.
