3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths: 1 with King Bed, 1 with Queen Bed, 1 with two Twin Beds. There is a whirlpool tub in the Master Bath.
Amenities include central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans, complimentary wireless internet access, 4 cable TVs, and stereo with surround sound. Washer and dryer.
Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made for your arrival.
The exterior offers a screened porch, decks, hot/cold outdoor shower, park style charcoal grill, picnic table and fish cleaning bench.
No Smoking. No Pets Allowed. Limit of 3 vehicles.
Military Discount Available. Discount can only be applied at time of booking.
Short Stays are available; there is a three-night minimum, and these stays can be booked within two weeks of arrival.

"We're hoping the owners of the Saltmeadow cottage will upgrade their entertainment system in living room. Tv is very poor quality- difficulty to use (there are 3 remotes you have to use).
The wiring under the house is all corroded and the connection to the internet is not very good. We do love the house and the location though. (A few roaches this time too)"

Reliable internet service on the island is a constant struggle, but please know that we do have an open signal at the rentals office anytime you need access. "We have been to the island 7 out of the last 10 summers and love Ocracoke. This trip was cut quite a bit short due to Idalia. We decided to leave on Wednesday since we have two small children and didn’t want to risk making them be stuck without power or trapped by any flooding that could’ve happened. Our house had two cockroaches that we found on Tuesday morning before we left, one of them ended up in my sock that I left on the floor the night before. The cockroaches made our decision to leave a bit easier. We know this was a one-off year and hope the next time we visit will be a more pleasant trip to Ocracoke."

"We love staying at the Saltmeadow. It's such a comfy and well appointed house. The only negative of the trip was the very late check-in. We didn't get in until about 4:58pm. We fully understand that a 5pm check in is assured but we have found over the almost 30 years we've been renting with OI, that this has never been the case. We understand work was being done on the outside of the house but we see no reason why we couldn't have been able to get inside. If there is work being scheduled on the house and there will most likely be a late check in, it would be prudent to notify the renters of this so they can plan their trip to the island accordingly. We have always been very happy with OI Realty, but were disappointed this time. "

"Visited October 2021 Best Friends - Virginia Clean house. Location is in a very quiet area, setting in bushy location. A lot of movies and games on rainy day, the big dining table came in handy. Kitchen has been updated. A lot of deck areas for everyone to separate. Would stay again."

"July 2018 Stay Great house with lots of amenities. We always love an outside shower with hot and cold water. The kitchen is stocked well with lots of pots, pans, knives, etc. Even a pair of scissors were discovered when we needed them! We loved the screen porch, right off the kitchen. You can see the sound from all the decks and the privacy is amazing. The mattresses could probably be replaced soon. They werent horrible but they probably have some age on them. There was plenty of space at the table for dining and board games. The best surprise was the Hook and Ring game on the screened porch. It was fun to play with a cold beer after a fun day at the beach. We would definitely consider renting it again!"

"July 2018 Stay WOW! SaltMeadow home was one of 2 rentals availible at the last minute. We booked our stay 2 weeks before arrival. So lucky to have ended up in this gem of a house. The location was peaceful as its set back from the road, with wonderful views from all the outdoor deck space this house has to offer. Towels, sheets, cookware was already in the home and ready to use. The multitude of books and board games were great for the rainy days, the parking was plenty for our 2 vehicles. I would recommend this home to anyone and would definitely consider another stay. Thanks for reading! The Wiseman Family"

"October 2017 Stay We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The home is in a secluded part of the village, which we liked. The home was very clean, well furnished, and overall very nice. I highly recommend renting bikes, by far the easiest way to get back and forth between the stores, shops and restaurants. The only complaint I have is with the beds. They need updating at some point, they are comfortable but could be better. I would consider this issue to be more of a gripe, not a big problem at all. If you are at Ocracoke to sleep then youre missing out. However, after a long day fishing or exploring the extraordinary beaches, a nicer bed would have made it perfect. I will recommend this to friends and family "
