This end unit offers panoramic views of colorful sunsets and Portsmouth Island off in the distance. Sunset on the Sound is the perfect getaway from the hustle of everyday life. Enjoy a short walk or bike ride to many local shops and restaurants. Sunset on the Sound offers easy access to Pamlico Sound for kayaking, clamming or bird watching.

This spacious condo offers an open floor plan with a living/dining area with cathedral ceilings and a wall of windows offering water views.

2 bedrooms, 2 Baths: 1 with King, 1 with Queen. Second floor Loft/Den offers a Daybed with Trundle (equals 2 twins). Each bath has a whirlpool tub and separate shower.

Central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans, complimentary wireless internet access, 3 color cable TVs, and DVD player. Two whirlpool tubs. Washer/dryer. Gas fireplace is not available.

Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made for your arrival.

A pier with shallow water access is great for fishing and crabbing. The exterior offers a spacious deck. Covered Parking. Shared fish cleaning table.

Gas fireplace is not available.

No Smoking. No Pets Allowed.

Parking is limited to 3 vehicles and includes covered parking for two cars in the parking space (1A) next to the stairwell.

No Partial Stays.

Sunset on the Sound is located on the third and fourth floor of the Horizons Condos

Level One: Open kitchen, dining and living area with TV. Bedroom with King bed, TV/DVD. Semi-private hallway bath with whirlpool tub and separate shower (bedroom and hallway access). Laundry Closet.

Level Two: Bedroom with Queen bed, TV/DVD. Semi-private hallway bath with whirlpool tub and separate shower (bedroom and hallway access). Loft with Day Bed with Trundle.

The Best of All Worlds

Our second time staying in this unit was almost as good as the first time in 2013. We love this location on the island for the shallow waters, abundant sea life, and views of the lighthouse, night sky, Portsmouth Island, the Ocracoke Inlet, and of course, the beautiful sunsets. Kitchen is nicely appointed / well equipped. Beds and other furniture are comfortable. Couple of minor gripes ... I believe there used to be a spigot on the deck that appears to have been removed. It was very useful for cleaning things (shells, for example) without the worry of clogging pipes with sand. The shower door on the main level sticks at the bottom, making it difficult to open and close. Very disappointed that the dock was not rebuilt during our stay (though we understand that other things had to take priority over it after Dorian and with COVID). I think our biggest complaint (though still minor, in our opinion) is the lack of an outdoor shower for the whole group of condos. The only place to hose off your feet or beach gear is around the side, and you have to walk through the sand after you've washed off your feet to get to your unit. Please consider coordinating with the other unit owners to relocate the hose for the foot wash and/or re-install an outdoor shower. All this being said, we loved our stay, and have already pre-reserved for next year. Keep up the good work.

We have stayed at this property for the past 5 years and we still enjoy it! The Condo is very well kept and the views are absolutely amazing. We already cant wait to return next year!

Love this unit and the view! Nicely decorated, bright and cheery. We've been coming to Ocracoke for many years and this is one of our favorite spots. Hats off, also, to the housekeeping staff and to the maintenance staff (repairing hallway lights). The kitchen was well-stocked. The owners took special care to label nearly everything. We'll be back!!

Fantastic week from beginning to end! Sunset on the Sound was in great shape; welcoming, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Really a home away from home; just in paradise!Ocracoke Island Realty paid close attention to a special request. Everyone was helpful, pleasant, and happy to share their island during our stay.

From sunrises in the AM to sunsets in the PM, this was a perfect place to stay. Very clean unit with a well stocked kitchen. Dcor was modern and clean upon arrival. If you stay in this Unit, you should be prepared for the stairs.....which are worth the climb because of the beautiful views from this property. Excellent location on Ocracoke to have access to the beaches, restaurants, and shops. But very quiet and relaxing atmosphere away from the crowds. Everything in the Unit worked well including the WiFi situation. Ask for a TV Channel listing when you sign in to help locate the channels in which you are interested. We brought a telescope and were well rewarded for the effort.....the night skies/stars/planets were easily visible. Good location for placing a telescope outdoors on the sunroof/porch for private viewing unobscured by town lighting.

We enjoyed our stay in this condo on Ocracoke. We could see the lighthouse from the bedroom deck and the sunset from the back deck. The kitchen had everything we needed, the layout was comfortable, and the decor was pleasing. It was a nice, quiet spot but an easy walk or bike ride to restaurants.

We spent our 25th wedding Anniversary here and had a fabulous time!!! The accommodations were comfortable and had everything we needed. The views were breathtaking!!! The realty agency was the best! We got in early and they gave us a lovely bottle of wine. We will definitely be back!!!!

This property was perfect for us. It was roomy, clean, well-appointed, and the sunsets were breathtaking! My son loved fishing from the pier, and swimming and shelling on the beach out front. The location is perfect...close to the center of the village but on a quiet street.

Clean, spacious, well equipped, beautiful location. Couldn't ask for a better rental experience. My only suggestion for improvement would be the addition of light blocking blinds on the bedroom windows facing east.
