IR12: Bandits Bungalow (Formerly Fried Ocra)

The place was very nice, it had most everything we needed. A couple of suggestions ,1- would be nice to have a fish cleaning station somewhere under the house ( like most the rentals we have rented from) and 2- maybe have some gravel or grey dust for the driveway, when it rains it gets real muddy

Our house was well suited to our needs. The kitchen had all the right implements to make gourmet meals. The floor plan was great for us—two older adults and 4 younger adults. We loved being near the Variety Store because we went twice a day at least. The view from the back deck was lovely. A great house!

House was fully equipped with cooking ware and enough utensils and supplies for a family of 8 mostly young adults, and our dog. Also had games, puzzles and enough room to spread out while also enjoying spending time together. The house is definitely set up with a pet in mind, as it has a dog proof gate on the top floor. Beautiful views of the pond from top deck, there are several in the entire house, and overall a quiet corner in a small road very close to the Variety Store. Only complaint is internet was very slow, and sometimes switching on and off, (seems to be a problem during stormy weather), and the yacuzzi jets don't work, so it is a tub only. This was told to us by OCR when we inquired.

Nice house and clean. Kitchen equipment okay; lacked hand mixer and cake pans. Have normally found mixers in other houses I have rented. Was able to borrow mixer and pans form nice staff at realty office!

Nice house. Spectacular view from upper deck. Location convenient near grocery and restaurants. Nice kitchen equipment. Suggestions: 1) Refrigerator door will not close without concerted attention. Freezer drawer sounds like its falling apart. 2) Futon "bedroom" needs a door not a curtain. 3) Master bathroom needs a window covering for privacy above the tub. 4) Living room needs more comfy side chairs for a gathering to watch a movie. (Not decorative chairs as my son noted.) 5) Lower master bedroom has a door to deck that is difficult to close and lock. 6) Some renters may not like the pothole filled private road so warn them. We enjoyed our stay despite some minor quirks!

The upstairs layout is great with a beautiful view. Probably the most well stocked kitchen of any rental we've stayed. Thank you for having us!

We definitely love Ocracoke Island Realty and will always rent from you. The house we stayed at fried okra needs a lot of deferred maintenance taken care of. Lots of lightbulbs out fans not working things like that. However, we had a wonderful week and we appreciate all the people of Ocracoke Island!

We always enjoy our stay in Fried Ocra. I noticed that in the 2nd floor King Bed Room, there was a set of blinds missing as well as a broken closet door.

Overall we had a nice stay at Fried Okra. 2 couples, 3 kids, and a dog fit nicely in the space. The kitchen supplies are adequate but not great if you are planning a lot of cooking. Only a park type charcoal grill also. No easy outdoor plug for a golf cart, you need to run an extension cord from the utility room. The tap water was good with the cistern rainwater system. Another good week of family time in Ocracoke!
