We had a great stay on Ocracoke, the Harbor III apartment was clean and tidy, for the three of us it was just what we needed. I would recommend staying here if there are three of you :) A couple of things that needed addressing: The microwave has obviously stopped working above the stove which also means there is no extractor fan, they have added a second microwave which is taking up almost all the available counter space, which makes it difficult to prepare food or do the washing up. Please just replace the original built in microwave! The seal around the main door has perished and hence you can hear the bugs all night and I am sure its increasing your energy bills having to keep the AC on. The last thing to mention was I think the AC unit in the main bedroom needs cleaning.

We'll check teh AC filters too, and the seal around to door - we definitely don't want unwanted visitors coming in! So glad you enjoyed your stay on Ocracoke and hope to see you again soon!

I had a week in between jobs and wanted to get away from everything for a week. My wife and I chose Ocracoke. The communication and check in process were fantastic. Very clear and timely instructions. The description is accurate and the location is unbeatable. You can leave your car there and walk to anywhere you want. No more than a 1/2 mile walk to anywhere in the village you want. Only 20 minutes from the Hatteras ferry as well. The coffee/ice cream shop on the base level was closed indefinitely. Just keep that in mind if you're looking for fresh coffee in the morning(if you're not making your own). Be advised that this is a 3rd floor unit and you do have a unit underneath. The walls are pretty thin as are the floors. So, you do hear people underneath you. It wasn't very bad, but you can hear quite clearly. The bathroom has heated floors(which were very nice), a drip coffee maker(bring your own filters(althought we left quite a few), a Keurig(bring your own pods), and full kitchen. We did have problems with the stove, but they quickly sent a repair person over to fix the problem. You have a great view of Silver Lake and awesome sunsets! Overall, this stay met our expectations and we had a nice activity filled as well as restful week. Would definitely stay again in the future.

It appeared that the TV channel subscription has expired or somehow changed so that there were no viewing options. It was okay for us but other visitors may want that option. Other than that, we had a great experience in that cozy hideaway!

My husband and I spent a week on Ocracoke Island for the harbor ambiance and relaxation and got just what we wanted. We always choose destinations that combine nature and history, so this was perfect. We've day-tripped there before and knew a week-long stay would afford us time to explore every nook and cranny of the island while still being able to relax and stick to our daily walking routine. And still, we didn't get to everything! Staying over the Slushy Stand ice cream and coffee shop was great - convenient and a great view, friendly people.
