The exterior offers a large screened porch with a picnic table and a deck that adds to your outdoor enjoyment. The rooftop observation deck provides a lovely view of the Island from above the tree-tops. Feel the breezes and watch the sunset into the sound. Hot/cold outdoor shower.

Overall, the house was great. There was no grill, as described, and housecleaning could do a little better (cobwebs over sink in bathroom, upstairs bedrooms not cleaned particularly well). But, things were doable, so no big complaints!

The Hartlaub Cottage was clean and much roomier than expected. We loved the crow's nest. The 360 view was spectacular. Cottage needs some work. Electrical issues. Breaker tripped multiple times a day in one section of the place.

Need new sturdier larger outdoor trash cans. Also. need an electrician to check ie loose outlet(s), lamp in living room bulb comes out of socket. Otherwise the house was perfect for us, a lot of character

Excellent service but the cabin really needs a lighting upgrade. Very dark minimal lighting with brighter bulbs needed throughout. Kitchen table seats are silly low compared to the table.

June 2016 Stay

What a wonderful place to spend vacation! Love Ocracoke so much! Hated to leave! The house was spectacular!! Wonderful location, loved the screened in porch with the lights, had such a beach vibe and so cozy! Can't wait to come back next summer!!!😎
