With one bedroom with private bath on the third floor, and a second sleeping area on the second floor and additional full bath on the first floor, this unique cottage is ideal for small families or a couples retreat. Treehouse Charlie embraces outdoor living with a wrap-around deck and screened porch with gas fire pit. Nature lovers will not only appreciate the mature trees and natural surroundings, but also that Treehouse Charlie was built with environmental responsibility in mind. Sustainable design features include a private reverse osmosis water system, on demand hot water heater, and a metal roof that's as charming as it is efficient.
Inside, you'll find thoughtful details throughout: natural slate and bamboo flooring, stained glass, custom built-ins, the list goes on! The open-concept, loft-inspired layout and high ceilings allow for an abundance of natural light. When you're not dining out at your favorite local restaurant on the island, prepare meals at home in the well-equipped kitchen with a gas range and farmhouse sink. Two living areas, one on the first floor and another on the second, provide plenty of room for spreading out. The second floor is furnished with a comfortable sectional (also 2 XL twins) in the den area, and french doors connect the space to a guest room with a Double Bed. Note, there is no separate mini-split system in this sleeping area, so the doors will likely need to stay open. Upstairs you'll find the primary suite with king bed, private bath with jetted tub, and access to a wrap-around observation deck where you can enjoy your morning coffee.
When you're ready to venture out, you won't have to go far to find a variety of shopping, dining and famous Ocracoke attractions. Treehouse Charlie is located on a quiet street off Lighthouse Road, but less than a five-minute walk from Silver Lake Harbor and all the locally owned businesses that make this island community a one-of-a-kind destination.
This house is not on city water, but has a private reverse osmosis water system,
Pets are not allowed. No smoking/vaping. No phone.
All linens are provided and the King bed and Double bed will be made for your arrival. Sheets will be left for one of the XL twins in den/common area.
Short Stays are available; there is a three-night minimum, and these stays can be booked within two weeks of arrival. Partials are not allowed between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Second Floor: Den with sectional couch and TV, Laundry Closet, Sleeping area with Double bed and den/common area sofa can be converted into 2 XL twins, and TV.

The house is super lovely and well appointed as well as super clean. The large porch was a great spot to ride out the rain from the hurricane. Unfortunately the outdoor shower door broke so we didn’t get to enjoy it, but otherwise a really lovely house!- Reviewed On: 8/13/2024

Treehouse Charlie made us feel at right at home. It is an absolute charmer and at the top of the board for all the houses we have rented over the years. The location is perfect for walking, tram riding, and biking to all your favorite spots. Even when it rained all day we enjoyed hanging out on the porch and reading. And the top deck is amazing.
