Stroll out on the private dock. Enjoy panoramic views of the sunset on Pamlico Sound and sunrises on the adjoining salt marsh.

Fully equipped and tastefully decorated. The open floor plan is spacious and comfortable. A large living area offers wonderful water views. A second floor den offers a comfortable area for relaxation.

3 Master Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths: First floor Master Bedroom with Queen. Second floor offers two Master Bedrooms, each with 1 with Queen and 2 Twins.

Amenities include central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans, complimentary wireless internet access, two TVs with internet service with local channels. Guests can use their own accounts to access various online viewing services. TVs do not provide house streaming accounts. The kitchen offers two full size refrigerators. Washer and dryer.

The exterior offers a private dock with stairway, bulkhead, outdoor shower, park style charcoal grill and fish cleaning bench. Covered parking.

Sheets and towels provided. Beds are made for your arrival.

No Smoking. No Pets Allowed. Limit of 6 vehicles.

After almost 20 years (next year will be 20) we feel like we are coming home to Anticipation every year. So thankful that the new owners are keeping the property in the rental program. We are hoping that they will work on the sliding glass doors - the living room and dining room ones are getting really hard to open and close. We love this house and the location has to be the best on the island. OIR staff are always great.

House was wonderful. Check in needs improvement for Sunday arrival. Information needs to be submitted to both text and email. I never got a text. I think it was a Verizon issue not their fault. However, the emergency contact was of no help. They didn’t have a good after hours contact number and couldn’t find the actual house listing. We eventually got in when maid service happened by. Please change/update after hours procedure.

We are so very sorry for the issues with the checkin and our on call service, we will work with them on being more helpful. For future reference, they are able to forward on calls to our local on call person, so if you ever need this kind of assistance again and are not getting what you need, please ask them to forward. Anticipation is the best located house on the island. We have stayed here for 18 years and love being here even when it's raining. Stunning sunrises and unbelievable sunsets. We love everything about the house, except the television programming. We do not have streaming services where we live so we don’t have accounts with Hulu, etc. We missed having access to current network programming.

As always, staying at Anticipation seems like coming home. The weather was beautiful, in spite of the looming Hurricane Lee and we had such a good time. This is the 16th or 17th year we have been in Anticipation at this time of the year and we love it because it's not too crowded and not too hot! Can't wait for next year!

Our rental was very comfortable and well-appointed for 3 couples. The grounds should have been cleaned from cigarette butts and garbage. Information should have been given regarding TS Idalia regarding clearing deck areas and preparing for the storm.
