The house and location are great! As a family we have 2 complaints - neither of which is in the control of the realty or the homeowner. 1) We had virtually no internet access. We called tech support on 3 consecutive days (did not call on the day that there was no access anywhere) and all 3 days they walked us through the process of restarting the modem. That might last an hour for 1 connected device. A new modem is most likely needed, but that was not offered. This was a problem because 2 guests were trying to work, and 1 needed to submit assignments for grad school. 2) There is apparently a crazy person living on the canal diagonally across from Carolina Winds. If we were outside at night and turned on a light they would HOLLER across the channel to turn it off! As far as cleanliness - there were cob webs across the lights in the downstairs bedroom bath. They were easily seen if the lights were turned on. But again - the location and house were great. We would stay there again.

I've im being picky about anything, toilet holder was ripped out, hole in closet upstairs and be awesome for a bit bigger TV in living room. Everything else we LOVED will stay again.

The house was very nice. The microwave kept tripping the breaker, but you brought another for us to use. We also had some problems with the internet, but that got worked out. If you could have shooed the rain away it would have been perfect! Thanks.

Beautiful well appointed home. Comfortably fit our large family. Room to spread out and enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck overlooking the canal.

Our stay was great. We love the Carolina Winds house. Since we had to move our stay up two weeks next year, I am shocked at the 51% increase in the base rent. I have been coming to Ocracoke since 1964 and unfortunately it is starting to get too expensive!

We had a great time! The property was exactly as described. Great layout for a family gathering. We were very impressed that the ground level dried out quickly even after a hard rain. This was not the case with other rentals we saw. We enjoyed kayaking and the visiting otters and took in the beautiful sunsets on the canal side. Would highly recommend.

Great stay as always at Carolina Winds! Everyone at OIR was super helpful and responsive and wonderful to work with. For the house, we noticed a few roaches in the upstairs bedrooms so the house may need to be sprayed inside. Also, the coffee maker is broken. Otherwise everything was perfect and we enjoyed our stay on Ocracoke!

This home is amazing!! Pet friendly and wonderful boat dock. Beds are comfortable and kitchen has decent cookware too. Highly recommend.

Love this house, fantastic layout, great location and dog friendly. It's in great shape - it looks like it had some nice updates this year, new rug and chairs, looks like fresh paint. It looked great. I stayed there three years ago and have reserved a similar week every year since. My friends who stayed with me one year loved it so much, they booked it last december. The cleaners did a great job. And OIR had the house ready for check-in a few hours early, which was super helpful! We love bringing the boat. The owner has done a great job and we are so appreciate of our time there. The only small suggestion would be to replace the pillows in the main level master bedroom. They were worn pretty badly last december when my friends stayed, so we brought our own this year. We look forward to next year. Love this house.
