OIR provided excellent service, as always. The staff are very helpful and so friendly. It's why we keep coming back to rent with you. We enjoyed Landshark very much. The house had everything we needed, including a steamer pot for Low Country Boil/Frogmore Stew, which we hoped would be there. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. The appliances are high quality - you don't always see that in rentals. That said, the bulb in the refrigerator needs to be replaced and the ice maker seems to be on the verge of needing replacement. It produces ice very slowly and there was not always enough ice for our group of four adults even though we did not use a great deal of ice. If the owners allowed guests to use the two kayaks, that would be a huge plus for the property. Not that we watched much TV, but the cable connectors outside are badly corroded and need to be replaced. That will substantially improve reception. Using a coax connector boot will protect the new connectors from future salt and moisture damage. You'll get more of what you're paying for if the connectors are replaced. The cable company might even do it at no charge. I also noticed that the remote to the stereo has acid corrosion from the batteries on the terminals. This can be fixed by neutralizing the acid with some vinegar using a cotton swab to remove acid traces. If necessary, lightly sand the spring terminals with a nail file to remove any remaining corrosion. Let it dry and put in new batteries. It should work perfectly. Overall, Landshark is a lovely property that the owners keep well maintained. We can't wait to return next year.

We will have our maintenance team replace the refrigerator bulb, evaluate/repair the ice maker, and replace the corroded outside cable connectors, adding coax boots to protect them from salt and moisture. We'll also follow your suggested steps for the stereo remote and replace it if cleaning doesn't restore proper function. We’ll speak with the owners about the possibility of allowing guests to use the two kayaks. Landshark is a lovely property, and we’re happy it served you well. WOW, we absolutely loved Land Shark! We have loved Ocracoke for decades, but had never stayed on this end of the island. Now it's going to be hard to go back to not having a view!!! The sunrises are just astonishing -- not only from the glorious, huge, deck, but from the 2nd floor bedroom where all you have to do is crack open your sleepy eyes and there is that sunrise! The games room is just phenomenal! We had such a fun gathering -- invited the cousins and friends staying in other houses to come over for a tournament on our last night together and it was an absolute blast. We brought our big floatie mat and played in the water right off the little dock -- nice sandy bottom and just a few feet deep. (It was too rough/windy our week to kayak.) I really loved all of the art in the house, which seems to be by the same artist. So colorful and cheery! Anyway, it was an incredibly special experience to have that view for a week!

Overall we were very happy with the house. A few suggestions: the keypad is very challenging to get open. It sticks and takes a specific turn and shimmy to get open. Also, and this is going to sound trivial, but the kitchen trash can is ridiculously small for the size house and number of people it accommodates. Otherwise all good, great location and views.

We love staying in Landshark! Its prime location along the water lends itself to relaxing days watching the water and nights admiring the stars. We have two suggestions: the downstairs bathroom needs new sink fixtures; they're corroded and the sink is missing its stopper. The toilet in the upstairs bathroom is on the verge of breaking - it needs to be replaced. Thank you for another great year and see you next September!

Absolutely heaven on earth. ICW View from living room kitchen dining room breathtaking. Game room has fantastic pool table that consumed the boys attention every single day. Outdoor shower was convenient and spacious. Kitchen stocked with top shelf cutlery and utensils. Icemaker in fridge kept the pace we needed. Washer and dryer stack set was a smart GE brand. The king mattress was a cream puff on a cloud wrapped in a dream. The hand made deck furniture was brilliantly designed for optimal sound sunrise views. Thank you to the owners.
