Description
The Island House boosts a reverse floorplan to capture canal and distant sound views that surround Oyster Creek. Architecturally minded features such as Age in Place Living with elevator access to all floors, thoughtful wide doorways, and other designs invite generations to enjoy.
The second-floor vaulted living, dining and kitchen spaces welcome entertaining with a cooks-kitchen, large eat-in island and an antique farm table to enjoy your fresh cooked catch of the day. This open floor plan offers several sitting spaces with sunset views and a large flat screen TV in the living room. A half bathroom and separate laundry room are nestled down a short hallway. And a dedicated competitive puzzling area, home school space or workstation is also on this level with a large drop leaf table.
On the first-floor, a separate den area with large flat screen TV is perfect for watching movies. Down the hall, a large Victorian barn door will close off the three bedrooms and two bathrooms from the den and provide a quiet retreat from the second floor entertaining.
The ground-level access welcomes guests with a lime washed herringbone brick floor – the perfect space for unloading after your beach excursions.
Bring your fishing poles and sunscreen and sit a spell among the cedars and make the Island House your newest beach tradition.

The kitchen includes quartz countertops, custom cabinetry with pantry storage, a large eat-in island, dishwasher, blender, microwave, toaster, French door refrigerator, and both a standard and Keurig coffee maker with a separate coffee bean grinder. The laundry space includes a washer and dryer, Pack-n-play, Iron and Ironing Board and folding countertop.
Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made for your arrival.
This canal front location offers easy access to Pamlico Sound with no boat height restrictions and a private boat bulkhead dockage. Access the fenced pet area from the front door which features a separate potty area from a covered play space. The rear yard offers additional space for your canine and is fenced on three sides. Outdoor hot/cold shower, park style charcoal grill, fish cleaning bench and dock electrical access. Covered parking provided.

Our family spent the Thanksgiving holiday on Ocracoke and had a wonderful week on the island! It was so peaceful, quiet, and beautiful...everything that we love about Ocracoke and the reason why we have been visiting since the mid-1990's. We participated in the Turkey Trot 5K race, bought delicious baked goods from the Bake Sale at the Fire Station, toured the historic homes and watched the holiday boat parade! Our rental property, Island House (OC 71) was the absolute BEST house that we have rented, so much so that we have gone ahead and pre-reserved the same house for Thanksgiving week next year! Our only complaint is that we will not be able to enjoy Eduardo's next year, but we wish him all the best in his next chapter! We rented Island House for 2 weeks which ended yesterday. And what a wonderful 2 weeks it was. My family once owned a home on Ocracoke and we have been visiting the island since mid 1970’s. So I know the island well. In my opinion, Island House is the pick of the litter. I am not aware of a nicer rental on Ocracoke. Everything about this house is first class. Excellent construction, wonderful floor plan, great location, and an elevator! The furnishings are exquisite and the kitchen is beyond compare. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. We’ve stayed in a number of different properties on the island and this by far our favorite. Super clean, high-end accommodations, kitchen, and amenities. My in-laws join us for part of the trip and that would not normally be possible, but the elevator, accessible bathroom, and living spaces make it possible.
