UT22: Outside Over There

We had a wonderful time staying here over the Pirate Jamboree weekend! This home was the perfect set up for our four generation family vacation! The kitchen was well stocked (although a frying pan was needed but we made do!) and the bedrooms and living spaces all made us feel right at home, along with plenty of games and books and puzzles! The covered porch with swing was a favorite spot! The island is a wonderful place to visit and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Everything was great about the house and location. I will note that the queen bed on the top level is extremely squeaky- definitely needs some attention. And It wasn’t totally clear in the listing that you have to bring all your linens and towels, but since we were driving it wasn’t too big of a hardship. We cooked a couple of meals during our stay and had all the kitchen items we needed for that, which was nice. And I enjoyed putting together one of the puzzles in the house. All in all a great trip!

We ended up loving staying here, it was the perfect place for 6 of us and in a great location to everything! The house was super clean and everything was how it was described. I will definitely stay here again next year if it’s available!
The only downside is you have to bring your own linens and towels or rent theirs but there is also an additional fee for them to put them on the bed before you get there… but overall it is fine, but I do wish they would have put that in the listing instead of messaging me about it a couple days before our stay.
But for that to be the only thing- I would say it’s a win! We love this place and would definitely recommend and hope to stay here again next year!

This is a wonderful house with plenty of room for a big group. First of all, Ocracoke is the best place on the Outer Banks so it’s in the right spot to begin with. The house itself is in excellent condition with comfortable furniture and a very usable kitchen. The place was immaculate when we got there. The upstairs common area is quite spacious and there are 2 large decks: one was screened in. The neighborhood is quiet and pretty convenient to everything. We’d definitely stay here again.

Overall we had a great stay at Outside Over There. It was a great house for us for the week. Our only complaint was the dryer. It was not working when we arrived. We had to have maintenance come out twice to adjust the hose in the back and re-attach. Just know it will work, you need to pull the dryer out from the wall so that there is enough space for the hose. We would definitely stay here again.

The house has great spaces and was very clean. It is on a quiet street. We really enjoyed the outside shower and separate living spaces. The dryer does not work, which is problematic with beach towels and no linens provided. The vent has been patched with duck tape but at this point needs a significant repair.

We were delayed entering the house because of the weather and OIR was kind enough to extend our stay by delaying our first day. Unfortunately (again because of weather) we had to leave early so we wouldn't be stranded on the island but it was a nice house and we had a good time when we were there.

Bed and pillow were uncomfortable and they have to get rid of those Teflon pans they are all scratched up and do not work well for cooking breakfast. The deck was nice to enjoy the nice fall breeze. We had beautiful weather and had a fun weekend thank you!

We love "Outside Over There", have stayed there 3 times. We were a bit disappointed though in a few things. The blinds on 2 doors were in very bad condition, we hung a sheet on one for privacy. A towel bar in the master bath was falling out of the wall, as it had been years ago. We were hoping since there were 2 filtered water coolers there, water was being delivered. And lastly the main bedroom's mattress was so squeaky and LOUD, very awkward, and chairs were broken on top deck and the entry deck sadly.

The place was very clean. We used all parts of the house and it was big enough for some privacy. Glad to have the big room for card and board games around the table. Suggest a golf cart for convenience. Great vacation! Dryer needs to be pulled forward to work better (kink in hose?).

This is a great vacation home. Everyone in our group was comfortable and enjoyed the place. The beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed. The screened in porch was a favorite hangout spot in the evenings. The outside shower with hot water was great for rinsing off after a day at the beach. My only criticism is about the grill. If the grill is going to be listed as an amenity it needs to be maintained better. The grill is in sad shape and it took me close to an hour to clean it up and make it usable. It is in need of replacement and needs to be maintained better if it is going to be listed as a feature of the property.

I enjoyed my stay. Overall, things were fine. The table was sticky and three of four lights were burned out in one of the bathrooms upon our arrival. Even so, I enjoyed our stay. I may have to do it again next year.

Very nice property off the beaten path. The house has a very peaceful and pleasant setting. The only down side to this place is it’s a bit tight moving a boat and trailer around. Can’t go wrong though otherwise especially for the peace and quiet. Also being able to bring our dog was very important and appreciated.

Overall, this is a lovely house. It is spacious and clean. I can tell the owners had guests in mind- there are books, games, DVD’s, and Roku. There are a ton of extra blankets. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking tools. Location with requests to beach and town is excellent. That said, the kitchen is TINY. Only one cool at a time. The porches are not very scenic as described. There is NO yard for the kids to play. And there are a LOT of stairs. Again, we loved our time there but wished we had known the above. 4.5 stars in my book!
