UT27: Piper Green

This is a great house nestled in the trees. The big windows give the sense that you are in a treehouse. The kitchen is well-equipped but small. The bedrooms are comfortable. The outdoor shower is not enclosed but that is a minor quibble about a wonderful house. We would stay here again.

Had a wonderful time. The house actually has a Queen, a double and a bunk bed. Very clean basic house, but everything you need to unplug and enjoy the island. Ocracoke Island Realty was very easy to work with.

Piper Green is a great house. We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, the windows and beautiful outdoor spaces, and the screened porch was our dog's favorite place. Our only disappointment was that a favorite amenity we always look for in a beach rental is an outdoor shower (we never rent a house that doesn't have one). While there was a bare shower-head under the house, it went straight into sand and there was no privacy enclosure, so it was not usable. I assume it's being replaced, but we missed having one!

The place was nice, but you'd better bring everything with you when you arrive. No Toilet paper, paper towels. You need things to clean pots and pans, as well as items to scrub and wash dishes. So, if you do stay here, have a bag with all your cleaning supplies and toiletries ready for easy access, especially if you have kids who need to use the bathroom right away. I would stay here again, but I would be better prepared when I arrive. Don't let what I'm saying stop you from staying here; have what you need packed before you arrive.

Beautiful house with lots of privacy. We had a wonderful week here and enjoyed the trees and the big windows.
A couple notes for future visitors…. There is no tea kettle as pictured in the photos and the kitchen is extremely small. There’s TVs and a router but no internet (as listed).
The drive does not pull all the way to the home for loading/unloading and/or for accessibility concerns.
The outdoor shower does not have a floor and is on the sand. So if you’re trying to use it to get the sand off… well it doesn’t work well.
But overall, it’s a fantastic house and my husband and I are very adventurous and low maintenance so we got on just splendidly!

Clean house on a beautiful island. We enjoyed our stay. I didn’t note that there is no WiFi and our provider did not have coverage so be ready to unplug or use Verizon if you need cell service! The listing did say this so it shouldn’t have been a surprise. The rental agency kindly offered to let us use their office.

Lovely woodsy house in Ocracoke. Stairs into stilted house could use some lighting in winter months. Kitchen is small but well stocked with most of what you might need. Bathrooms are generously sized and bedrooms are compact with full size beds. Warning to those with attentive dogs: beautiful whole living room windows do not have shades.

Felt like a tree house with all of the juniper trees! Comfy rooms and close to stores and restaurants. Enjoyed the screened in porch with swing and other outdoor seating. We love the beaches of Ocracoke!

Lovely house, in fact, probably the best we have had over the past 20ish years or so on Ocracoke. A true haven (and heaven) in the midst of very rough weather and both of me and my husband having Covid while on the island. Loved the architecture and the cedar grove.
