Tucked away on beautiful Windmill Point, this charming one-bedroom cottage offers one of Ocracoke’s most unique and romantic settings, with access to both the sound (via Robbie’s Way) and the harbor (via private easement)—perfect for launching kayaks, exploring the water, or simply enjoying an unforgettable Ocracoke sunset.
Surrounded primarily by permanent residences, the cottage offers a peaceful, quiet setting away from the busier vacation-rental areas of the island. It’s a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a more intimate side of Ocracoke while still being close to everything the village has to offer.
The cottage is thoughtfully laid out, comfortable, and exceptionally well appointed. The unique chef-style kitchen is a highlight, featuring a Viking six-burner gas range with a full vented hood and everything needed to enjoy cooking and dining at home.
The bedroom features a comfortable king-size bed, while the bath includes a spacious dual-head shower. The living area offers a smart television and a queen-size sleeper sofa for additional flexibility.
Outside, relax on the quiet screened-in porch in the rocking chairs and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of Windmill Point. The combination of privacy, water access, and location makes this an especially inviting getaway for couples looking for a romantic Ocracoke escape.
The cottage is ideally suited for two adults. A small family with young children may also be considered, with the queen sleeper sofa providing additional sleeping space.

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath: Bedroom with King Size Bed. The bathroom offers a walk in shower only.

Amenities include central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans, complimentary wireless internet access, and internet TV. Combo Washer and dryer.

The exterior offers a screened porch, deck, and fish cleaning bench. Gas grill. A path to Silver Lake Harbor, great for launching kayaks.

Sheets and towels are not provided. If you would like to rent sheets and bath towels please give us a call.

Short Stays are available; there is a three-night minimum, and these stays can be booked within two weeks of arrival.

The stay was great. The weather and surroundings were beautiful. The house could use some deep cleaning. There were cobwebs near the ceiling. A pizza pan might be nice. We loved our new friend Henry and we plan on returning again.

We arrived on 9/30/23. Willis Garden is lovely. On Sunday after reporting some maintenance issues, a maintenance man came to attend to the repairs. While was there , I sat on a dining room chair which promptly splintered and collapsed, causing me to fall. Fortunately, the gentleman was able to help me up. I reported this issue to you, and followed up with the Health Center on Ocracoke. Sleeping for the next two weeks was a problem. The fold out couch is awful, and I was unable to get in or out of the bed due to its height, and nothing to grab on to. That left the living room chair as the only option. All this aside, the home is lovely. My wife, and I made the best of a difficult situation and had a really nice time . We adored the house and its location. quiet, and pleasant. We have been coming to Ocracoke for 46 years, it is truly our favorite place. We look forward to our next visit. Fred And Bonnie McKenna
