This spacious condo offers an open floor plan with a living/dining area with cathedral ceilings and a wall of windows offering water views.

2 bedrooms, 2 Baths: 1 with King, 1 with Queen. Second floor Loft/Den offers a Daybed with Trundle (equals 2 twins). Each bath has a whirlpool tub and a separate shower.

Central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans, complimentary wireless internet access, and 3 color cable TVs. Two whirlpool tubs. Washer/dryer.

A pier with shallow water access is great for fishing and crabbing. The exterior offers a spacious deck. Covered Parking. Shared fish cleaning table.

Parking is limited to 3 vehicles and includes covered parking for two cars in the parking space, (1A) next to the stairwell.

We had a great time in Ocracoke. Sunset on the Sound is a great rental. We have stayed here a few times before this.. The Realty company had to come out because the battery died on our keypad and they were very prompt to take care of that.

We loved Sunset on the Sound at Horizon Condos. It was our first stay at this home. We've been coming to Ocracoke since 1979 and have stayed all over the island from Edwards of Ocracoke to some of the most recently renovated homes. It's always an adventure to stay somewhere new although we have a few favorites with repeated stays. Sunset on the Sound will definitely be a home we will look forward to staying in again. The sound view from the living room is spectacular. You can even see the lighthouse from the porch. We spent hours outside on the porch just talking the time away and watching the ferries and other water craft come into the port. It's located in a very quiet spot on the island. The house is spacious and clean. We had plenty of room for four people; more than what we needed. The house is wonderfully stocked with everything you need. And, on one particularly rainy day, we all worked together on a fun puzzle. This is a great place to stay, and we will look forward to our next stay at Sunset on the Sound!

This was our 3rd time at this condo- little run down this time especially for the money- not enough coffee cups for everyone- no starter dish detergent etc- immediately had to go to the variety store- no water hose access outside. The condo had light bulbs out everywhere, tiles at back door were broken and hurt my kids barefoot, the view was still gorgeous. Will probably try other places next year.

Our condo unit is very well equipped & maintained. Realty company cleaners do a great job of cleaning. Very nice improvements to building with new siding, stairs, & railings. One suggestion we would like to make is to have a working water spigot & hose next to building. We used one a couple of times to hose off our kayaks, but this time it wasn’t working. Luckily we made friends with a couple in a ground unit & they offered for us to use their hose. But location to launch our kayaks & see beautiful sunsets can’t be beat!

June 2016 Stay

Clean, spacious, well equipped, beautiful location. Couldn't ask for a better rental experience. My only suggestion for improvement would be the addition of light blocking blinds on the bedroom windows facing east.
