WV08: Island Cat

Hello, we stayed in WV #08 island cat … this was our second stack at this location, it is exactly as describe we like the layout, we like the location a couple things I noticed when we got there on Saturday the commode was running through. I heard it when I walked into the bathroom. I fixed the lever handle and it stopped. We have no idea how long it was running before we got there….. the house did have a little bit of a shut up smell. If we would’ve had cooler weather, we would’ve opened up every window and door and left the screens closed to get some cross ventilation I just feel it needs aired out some….. We were still satisfied with the stay…like the outside shower as well, we will come back. I’m sure and anything we did find compromised was only a suggestion on how to fix it. We were not disappointed. It just needs a little attention and will be fine. The commode was on the downstairs floor by the way once again, thank you…. it was unfortunate, but we had to have our stay cut short. We left on Wednesday instead of Saturday I tour my boss up the weekend before and had to have surgery on Thursday….. but still always a good time in Ocracoke

We love Island Cat and Ocracoke Realty is amazing. The description is accurate but if owners feel like upgrading, an upstairs shower and internet would be great. That said, it is in an excellent location, great layout and comfortable beds. THANK YOU!

House is in a great location yet feels private. The porch space is great and the beds are comfy. We had a full house but never felt crowded.

Loved the Island Cat and it was my family’s third stay at this house. Great floor plan that accommodated seven people. It reminds me more of a lake house due to all the wood throughout and the porch is so relaxing. Compared to other rentals, this was financially friendly and the kitchen is very well equipped!

Our stay at the Island Cat was great! The house is very clean and complete with everything you will need! The only thing missing is Internet but maybe they will add that in future years! The family really liked the temp control in each bedroom! Makes it easy to keep everyone happy! :-)

Our experience overall was amazing. Even though there was no internet, it wasn’t an issue. One thing I will mention to those with children who plan to stay in the future, be weary about the wood stove next to the living room tv. It stands on a concrete slab and my daughter tripped and fell cos she misstepped. We just blocked it off with luggage but I advise caution. Away from that, it has most of the “amenities” a house should; pots, pans, blender, toaster, coffeemaker, plates, bowls, cups, cutting board, etc. There were some games and books there for entertainment. The outside shower is VERY convenient after beach days as it’s next to the washer/dryer and bathroom. Again, overall a great stay!
