Myrtlewood offers panoramic views from the rooftop lookout. The landscaped, backyard garden offers an outdoor seating area and allows for easy passage to the Savanna Cottage - book both homes for the perfect combination for the large family or group of friends.

3 Sleeping Areas, 3.5 Baths: 2 first floor Bedrooms - one with a Queen bed, one with 1 Queen bed, 1 Twin bed, and Twin Futon. Loft Sleeping Area with 1 Queen. The half bath is very small (please see photo).

Amenities include central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans, complimentary internet access, and 3 streaming TVs. Washer and dryer (located in ground-level laundry/storage area).

The exterior offers a large yard, lookout deck, covered decks, rocking chairs, picnic table, hot/cold outdoor shower, and fish cleaning bench. The second-floor covered deck is gated, perfect for securing your dog.

**There is no inside staircase to the second floor. The second floor is accessible only via the covered outside steps.

No smoking. Pet Friendly - DOGS ONLY. Limit of 2 Dogs. Limit of 3 vehicles.

Short Stays are available; there is a three-night minimum, and these stays can be booked within two weeks of arrival.

The house and grounds were very clean upon arrival. Also, the person who came by on Saturday to cut the grass was very professional moving stuff we left in the yard around to complete his work. Unfortunately, trash pickup was problematic with overflowing cans present on my arrival and a very limited number of pickups. The owner should consider replacing the piece meal hose with a real garden hose as I had to continually patch it back together.

The only complaint I have is that the TVs are all so old that you cannot stream; Netflix, etc. They need at least a tv in the living room that can do so. Can’t spend every second at the beach, especially on rainy days.

Myrtlewood was a fun place to stay! We got a good giggle over the little toilet in the closet! We really enjoyed watching the sunset from the crows nest. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and small appliances. Checkout was a breeze and rules and regulations were very simple and not demanding. I loved it!

I love working OIR! The house we stayed at was WV19 Myrtlewood. While it was a great size and we'll appointed, the only way to access the living/ kitchen area from the bedrooms was via an outside set of stairs. While for the most part this wouldn't be an issue, when it rains you are going to get wet. You need to be fully prepared for the weather in order to get to your kitchen. And that's why there are only 4 stars. The hidden half bath in the loft was a cute surprise and the watch tower/crows nest was an added bonus! 3 1/2 bathrooms made things exceptional. We always appreciate an outside shower and this one was sheltered under the house-PERFECT! Access to outside was awesome as two doors for both levels. Would really like to see a bughut/screened in area somewhere on one of the porches. We LOVED the gated floor where we could let our dogs have a safe area to be outside, off leash and not worry about them tumbling down the stairs. Overall, we would absolutely recommend this property, but will probably not stay in this location again because of the outside stairs.

Thanks for your detailed review! The owners are making some improvements this winter and sprucing things up. The outside stairs are covered, so rain usually isn't a problem unless it's accompanied by very windy conditions. We hope you'll visit again!

Nice house, great stay, even with the tropical storm. Loft 'bathroom' was interesting, I guess meant for children. Wish we had been closer to the Sound for the dog to go swimming.

We enjoyed our stay. The house was great. I did hear that the back bedroom had a musty smell. Maybe at some point get the A/C to run into that room to dry out the air.

Our stay at Myrtlewood was wonderful! Very affordable for the amount of space and amenities. Layout takes some getting used to but is fine once you do. Had an issue on day one with the septic system and it was fixed within hours. Highly recommend, will be staying again!
