WV21: JJ's Getaway

Very clean house, well stocked in every way. The house is very roomy with lots of table seating for dinners and couches/chairs for evening lounging around. Also there were games and books galore. WE loved it!!

We have stayed at WV 21 for 10 years. The size and layout is perfect for our family. We especially like the well-appointed kitchen as we cook all our meals there. Have been coming to Ocracoke for more than 50 years and I can't say how many can openers we've bought at the Variety Store since the rental didn't have one! Everything about JJ's is perfect!

Good weather until Thursday then the storm kicked up it's heals. House was nice and clean. Good neighbors, very little noise. Can't afford this place again. When you talking 300 hundred a night it's not worth it to Me. Been coming for over 25 years mostly twice a year. I always enjoy it even in the rain and wind. See Ya in the spring!

Overall, JJ's Getaway works well for a large group - plenty of seating and eating areas, good bathrooms. Faultless reservation process, glad we rented sheets etc since somewhat floppy mattresses needed extra large sizes, cleaners did a good job, light switches in weird places (eg behind fridge), good quiet location (unless sleeping in twin room downstairs next to AC unit) and close to Back St coffee shop, Flying Melon, Zillies, etc.

What a great place. Perfect amount of space for large family dinners and just spreading out doing different things like puzzles, reading and visiting. This house has great amount of kitchen ware except for forks (dire need for additional forks). Beds were comfy and maintenance came immediately when the upstairs A/C unit was on the fritz. We will definitely stay here again.

Nice stay at JJ’s Hideaway. The home was just as pictured. Worked well for our group of six. We cooked a lot while there. Used the charcoal grill. All appliances worked well except one eye on our stove. We removed the 4 inch memory foam mattress topper because that was terrible for bad backs but the bed slept well once removed. (Replaced it once we left). Lots of games to play, books to read and the house was an easy bike ride to all restaurants and shops. We would definitely recommend it for a family.

Not recommended for tall guests; ceilings on 2nd floor are low. (Shower is maybe 6' clearance, ceilings roughly 6'6".)

Wonderful, as always. This is our 53rd year coming to Ocracoke. We have stayed in many different houses,as well as camping. We have booked thru Ocracoke Island Rea!ty for many years, never had a problem. They are great to work with!
