As the sun sets, a dazzling fireworks display lights up the night sky, launched from the NPS parking area at the island's southern tip.
July 3 brings a classic island favorite: the Fundraising Fish Fry, hosted by the Ocracoke Preservation Society at the Island Inn Commons. It's a chance to sample local seafood while supporting historic preservation efforts. Later that night, the Old-Fashioned Ocracoke Square Dance at the Berkley Barn invites all ages to step onto the dance floor with live music and a spirited crowd.
