This past weekend, the island celebrated their long history and passion for figs by hosting the 4th Annual Ocracoke Fig Festival.

The fig harvest is beginning on Ocracoke Island. Just in time for the Annual Ocracoke Fig Festival on August 18th and 19th. Around Ocracoke Village fig enthusiasts have begun their daily visits to their trees checking for ripeness. So begins an annual tradition dating back to the 1700’s.
