Residents and visitors will experience a variety of activities during Thanksgiving week on Ocracoke Island.  Everyone is invited, so join the fun.  Here is a sample of some of the activities.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 22ND

The United Methodist Women’s organization will hold their annual fundraising Bake Sale at 1 pm on the porch of the Variety Store.  Whole cakes and pies will be available for your Thanksgiving feast.  Be sure to arrive early!

THANKSGIVING DAY, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23RD

Start the day at 8am for the Turkey Trot! The 3rd Annual, Unofficial 5K Turkey Trot is a fundraiser for the Ocracoke 5th grade field trip. Everyone is welcome. You can run for free or for a $20 entry fee, you will receive an insulated grocery tote. All paid entries will also be entered into a raffle for a turkey! The winner of the race (paid entrant) will also receive a turkey. The race will begin and end at 1718 Brewery.  Runners will be treated to locally brewed beer or root beer.  Sponsored by 1718 Brewery and Angie’s Gym.  Here are the details and sign up information.

THANKSGIVING DINING

For dining out on Thanksgiving the Ocracoke Oyster Company is serving a Thanksgiving buffet from 11am-5pm. The full menu will also be available.  Starting at noon, Gaffer’s Sports Pub will offer a Thanksgiving buffet, Noon-5pm.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 24TH

Shop Local!  We invite you to shop Ocracoke’s locally owned and very unique  shops and galleries this weekend.  Stroll the village, meet the merchants and artists and do some holiday shopping.

Ocracoke Alive Thanksgiving Fundraising Concert.  Join Fiddler Dave, Coyote, Jef the Mime, Richard Bryant, Jenny Starr, Katy Mitchell, Jennifer Grossi & Don Sinclair, Scott Paulson & Barb Smith and more for the Thanksgiving Fundraising Concert at Deepwater Theater supporting Ocracoke Alive’s Community Programs.  An evening of music and storytelling.  7:30 pm.  $15 Adults, $7 Kids.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH

Visit our unique Shops and Galleries. 

Stroll to Silver Lake Harbor at 7pm for the Holiday Parade of Boats. Owners of boats of all sizes and varieties, kayaks, paddleboards and more are invited to decorate their boats to light the waters of Silver Lake Harbor.  Enjoy refreshments at the Working Watermen’s Exhibit at the Community Square while you watch from the docks.  Join the fun, bake a desert.  Ocracoke Coffee Company will be contributing coffee. Join the festivities on the water or on land! 

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH

Zillie’s invites you to a Holiday Open House from noon-6pm. Enjoy complimentary spiced apple cider, hot mulled wine, holiday treats, and secret surprise savings.  Another great way to celebrate the holiday!
